Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I'm trying SO hard not to post on a status (technically two of the same status in different places) again. Some/most of you can probably figure it out. It's annoying me WAY more than it should. I decided to just not post again because I don't like to bicker, but now LinkedIn sent an email which contains a link to an article on the same subject: www.businessinsider.com/facebook-has-a-festering-global-problem-with-no-solution-2012-9. Usually I just pass over all these types things but for some reason I felt the need to respond to this one and it's really bothering me.
And let me also say that the past 24 hours or so I have been kinda... annoyed, etc. There's a thread on here that annoyed me, so I am tying to stay away. All the students who park in my staff/faculty lot really pissed me off this morning (I actually had to go park in a different lot)... I'm not usually a person who gets so worked up. SOMEONE FIX ME.
Modify number two: I can't get the link to route correctly?
Article Title: Facebook Has A Festering, Global Problem With No Solution
Key phrases: All around the world – in France, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States – Facebook users are outraged that the social network has exposed, to all their friends, their private messages from years ago....
The fact is, however, this glitch does not exist.
Facebook has debunked it several times to several media outlets.
We believe Facebook. Facebook is a public company now, and a catastrophic glitch like this would be a material issue if it were real, so the company would face all sorts of lawsuits if it were lying....
f the glitch did exist, Facebook could simply write some code, stop the immediate issue, and deal with the PR mess.

Bonz, can I ask why this Facebook thing annoys you? It seems like it's something you could just ignore (which you said would normally be the case with you, so why is this getting special attention?).
Feel better, next time kids park in your lot call a tow truck, that usually sends the message (and the kid's friends will find it hilarious and side with you most likely).
Edit: I also ignore any news relating to Facebook, so it could be a big deal and I just don't know.

It definitely happened to my FB so I guess I'm crazy.
Might not have happened to everyone, but I had some pretty personal messages displayed. Luckily it's an easy fix and nobody would have seen unless they were creeping hard.

I would still check my wall if I were on facebook. I personally did but couldn't find any messages. If someone finds one and can screenshot some proof (showing the message on their wall AND in their messages folder) then I may believe it's a bug and facebook is lying. But I think that them coming out and debunking it speaks volumes. If they are caught lying about that it could be a huge problem for their stocks and all that.
Dunno. I just know that I didn't see it and most news are confirming it's not happening. But i'm always open to conspiracy theories and Facebook covering this up would be a big one.
A big thanks to ITM posting everything on that FB thread annoyance that I wanted to/ didn't want to! IF someone could prove to me in the way that ITM mentioned (a screenshot of the post AND the PM), then we can talk. But everyone who believes it cannot offer proof. There is just a belief that they don't think they are posts. FB was a different world a few years ago. People used walls like texts- just for regular ol' conversation- which is why they look like PMs. Now people are more selective about their public posts.
Like ITM just said, it's a public company. It is not worth it for them to lie. If this were true, it would be an easy fix followed by a public apology.

What bar are you guys going to again? I have to wait for my brother so I don't even know if I'll be able to make it down there before 4 or 5.
UMMMMMMMMMMM Flanzo. You are going to skip out on us AGAIN?! We'll be long gone by then. The music starts at five. Meet us at noon. Your bro can come down on his own later.

He is not on my level when it comes to navigating the city, so if he needs me to wait I can't leave him to find it himself (it's not easy to user public transportation from my apartment to get to the West side of Manhattan unless you know what you're doing).

I looked at mine yesterday after someone posted it. All it shows on mine is old wall posts. It took me a minute to see what they were since I barely remember last week much less what I wrote to someone 4 years ago.
All the students who park in my staff/faculty lot really pissed me off this morning (I actually had to go park in a different lot).
This always confused me, why would the faculty/staff get pissed at this?
The students in a rush to get to a class they were probably late for and didn't want to troll the student lot for a spot that maybe isn't there, (your school probably has a different situation then mine did but student parking was a nightmare,) will get a ticket.

My school had some lots that people could get away with parking in, even if they weren't supposed to. Most of the time tickets were given out but if you had a 50 minute class there was a chance the parking attendant staff
I would imagine faculty/staff get pissed at this if they are forced to park further away or in a different lot because some students decided they didn't have to follow the rules (even if the rules are lame). Sure, they will get a ticket but the annoyance still happened.

We are mostly residential campus. VERY few people live off of campus, so people running late for class is not an issue. For us, it's mostly the people (freshmen) who aren't supposed to have a car on campus so they end up just parking wherever. And I get pissed because half of the cars in the lot that I usually park in (yes, I counted) did not have a parking sticker. I had to park in a different lot this morning and walk over. I contacted Campus Safety to get their butts moving ticketing. In addition, we have some visitor spots in front of the building. This morning, 10 of the 11 spots were were taken when there was only one visitor in the building. This is not fair to our visitors. My boss called to have the rest towed. It's a struggle we come across in the beginning of every semester.

I want to preface this in that UTK sells more permits than spaces (1.85:1 for commuters, 1.2:1 for non commuters), so I understand the pain of school having sh*tty parking.
1) A vast majority of university students are 18-25. Generally speaking, they should be able to get around alright. Faculty and staff can be into their 70s. What is a crappy walk for students could be near impossible for some faculty.
2) For quality faculty, there is a competition between schools. Therefore, there are going to try to take care of them. Not having to walk a mile to your office every day is a hell of a perk for many.
