so yesterday I bought two tickets to Dancefestopia to to with the GF and a handful of other friends. Later that night I realized it's the day of a cousin's wedding. Guess they're going to have to live without me. I told her we'd have them over to grill this summer and celebrate, wedding isn't until September. My mom is disappointed in me but my cousin says it's totally cool. I'm sure the wedding will be fine without me.
I'm sure your cousin actually thinks you're a selfish asshole. He/she is just too polite to say so.

Depends on the cousin really. Only one out of my seven cousins came to my wedding, and I didn't mind at all.

The second car only has one key. Being worried about what to do if this key got locked in the car, I decided to embark to the store today to get some spares made. Forgetting that there isn't a house key on that key ring, I locked myself out of the house. I find this hilarious given the purpose of the trip was to avoid getting locked out of the car.
Preemptive question: if my 18 y/o sister and her 18/19 y/o decide to get married, is there any tactful way to encourage her to be independent and make her own decisions while simultaneously telling her I think that's probably a terrible idea? They've been dating for two years. She alluded to something on Snapchat that has me wondering, though I'm pretty sure she was just joking.

Seduce her SO and fuck him and then tell her he cheated on her. Even if you're not into dudes, save your sister from this terrible mistake she's about to make.

If you really think it is getting ready to happen, just have a frank discussion with her about what she expects to get out of marriage. My brother is getting married in October, and I have little by little been throwing in advice to him about it because I want things to go well for him. My urgency for that is doubled especially with my being sure that any and all advice he is getting from our dad is horrible.
Edit: or fuck and/or get fucked by her SO. Either way would probably work.

This sounds exactly like something I would do have done before.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
The site of my first concert has been undergoing demolition (you bastards), and yesterday the roof collapsed. Thankfully, it being a weekend, there were no deaths and only one (non-major) injury.
I kinda think they should leave it like that. Just imagine all the gladiator fights.

On this topic, I have been in a rental car for 5.5 months. Rental agencies give you TWO keys, but bind them together in an unbreakable ring so they form a cluster that will not fit appropriately into any pocket. With the new "dongle" non-keys, it is worse. You get two dongles, AND two emergency keys in case the batteries die.
This has always bothered me. If you lose one key, you lose both. If you lock one in the car, you lock both in the car. And, it looks like you are carrying a porcupine in your pocket.
I suppose that one could return the car to a different location than the one where the keys originated ... but still. It's awful.

I read that's actually for resale value of the car after they're done renting it. A car with only the one set of keys isn't worth as much and it's expensive to replace the keys/dongles these days.
But I do feel for you, that must be a massive wad to stick in your pocket.

Looks like you got some sweet dongles in your pocket...or are you just happy to see me
It did make me think about an Awkward Teenager Pics thread though.
Is this being done? I support this thread, although it should be either be generalized to The Awkward Time in Your Life thread, or at least say in the first post that it doesn't necessarily have to be teenage years. I think my most awkward time was definitely when I was younger (4th/5th grade), not my teenage years.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
DP: First day back in my office basically since March 8. My to do list is a mile long, but despite its length, very few things on the list have a deadline. I worked soooo hard the past month or two (and I am still feeling jet lagged), that I have decided to... not really work hard today. I made my todo list, chatted with my work bff, and have been catching up on Inforoo. I don't foresee my productivity improving much either.

Who knew giving an organ away would be so difficult. I'm recovering from the kidney donation; I am just so very tired, all the time. And my back has not liked this one bit. So getting comfortable enough to actually get good sleep has & still is a huge issue. I have lost a fair amount of weight (woohoo!), but I am continuing to have new little issues (not quite complications) crop up. I am so grateful though for all the support I have been receiving, be it gifts or cards or texts or meals. No lie, I have never in my life felt so supported and loved.
Becky continues to do great. My spare is working amazingly. She is struggling a bit with all the medication she is on (immunosuppressant drugs to prevent rejection), but otherwise she is great. Our team is really blown away by us. This might be TMI for some, but I found it so cool. Before the transplant she was producing so little urine. Maybe 1 to 2 trips to the bathroom each day. My kidney started working immediately on the operating table, and that Saturday she was producing more urine than I was. They removed all the lines & ports because no more dialysis.
I go tomorrow for my post op appointment. We need to figure out some issues I am having (all minor), then I will be done, except for yearly checks with my general practitioner. The transplant center will keep track of me, for study purposes. But my trips to Augusta should end tomorrow.
The plan is to attempt to start working a bit next week. But the plan right now is to also attempt my DC trip next week. Silly I know, but I hate letting the kids down, and we have a White House tour scheduled, along with a Capital tour. So we'll see how I am feeling first of next week. Fingers crossed well enough to take 3 kids by myself to our nation's capital.

I'm in California right now for the first time (Orange County) for a job interview. I'll be driving to LA tonight and staying with a friend for a few days, my flight back is early morning Friday. I have a ticket to see Dave Chappelle on Thursday but besides that I have nothing planned. Anyone have advice on things to do/see, preferably on the cheap side?
