It's early for this, but I want to make sure I do something this NYE. I'm interested in seeing who is doing multiple days of shows in the same city around NYE.
Ween just announced 3 days at the Fillmore, in Colorado.
Has anyone else heard any other artists make announcements?

If MMJ does New Years in NYC again I might have to try it! There were some peoples on Lotus' facebook sayin' they have heard rumors of them doin' NYE in the Washington, DC area, but you might wanna take a spoonful of salt with that. However if Lotus is in this area fer New Years I know where I'll be!
Well its nothing concrete but the MMJ forumers are basing it off the fact that MMJ hasn't played NY this summer and don't have it scheduled for the Fall and an interview with Tom where he says they will play there soon. Again nothing but speculation but a lot of the people are thinking it will be someplace smaller than MSG.

I'd accept an MMJ halloween show as well. That'd be pretty cool.
Not scheduled yet but The Flaming Lips in Oklahoma City again. They have not officially discussed what they'll do but Wayne has said he wants to make the NYE show a 2-3 day event with more bands but it seems that if a multi-day thing were to happen, it'll probably be next year. Playing all of Yoshimi or Clouds Taste Metallic albums are also things he mentioned. Whatever they do, I'll probably be there on NYE.
The only thing that would stop me is I'm already seeing them again at the Mann center. That is not to say that I would have any qualms with seeing MMJ 3 times in 6 months.
MMJ @ MSG in NYC on NYE '08-'09 was second only to Roo 2008 as the best MMJ show I've ever seen. That said, I don't know if they would get booked for New Year's at Madison Square Garden again so soon - but I would love to be proven wrong.

I hope MMJ plays in New York, as I have never been and wanted to go this year for New years. Though seeing The Flaming Lips is always a spiritual experience for me. I hope both of you are right so everyone gets what they want for New Years.
