I have never been more excited for another fest's lineup to drop than I am for Sasquatch's tonight. Unless FlyLo is on it. Then I don't want Sasquatch to even exist anymore
Tough call. Someone once told me not to start people off on Cosmogramma but I'm doing it anyway:
I usually try to ease people in with Los Angeles. The whole record.
Los Angeles is far and away my favorite FlyLo album still I'd say 1983 is much more accessible and a better way to "ease" people in.
I guess you can put it this way, if you're a fan of hip-hop with not much "experience" listening to electronic music that some people might consider off-putting, then I'd start with 1983. If you already enjoy electronic music and are open-minded to the genre then I'd start with Los Angeles.

Yeah it actually goes Los Angeles > 1983 > Cosmogramma for me.
All fantastic records but the first 2 are just more complete for me and flow better. There are a handful of tracks I feel inclined to skip on Cosmogramma. None on the first two
I need to see him live I guess he just strikes me as a spacey sunset kind of person. I will still check the show though unless he is up against the LN Phish set.

I actually think he's one whose set you'd really enjoy. He seems to have some crossover appeal into the jam crowd.

No he is more of a "eat-a-gram-or-two-of-mushrooms-and-have-your-mind-blown-and-then-lay-down-in-a-field-after-the-show-and-stare-at-the-moon-while-you-contemplate-the-rest-of-your-life" kind of person

I am listening to cosmogramma right now on spotify, it is better than some of the stuff I have seen posted on here. In fact if you guys like this you need to check out garage a trois. Kind of like this but with Stanton Moore on drums.

Cosmogramma is when I remembered, oh fuck, he's related to Alice Coltrane.
Love that record.
I truly believe Cosmogramma is one of the most important electronic albums ever made. Especially when you consider it was made using Reason, which is like the training-wheels of digital audio workstations, in my opinion.
I find myself listening to Pattern+Grid World more than anything else now. I'd say I go all the way through that record at least 3 times a week. 'Kill Your Co-Workers' and 'Physics for Everyone!' always send me into a frenzy.
and I hear a lot of other producers using Raw Cartoons samples for their mixes these days.
Man, I come in here to get my celebration on, and Alberto and Radiospirit just have to be all Debbie Downer on me. I appreciate the reality check though. It's hard, but I always remind myself that everyone "confirmed" is only 95% certain. They only hit 100% when the line-up comes out.
