Cults Forest City Lovers Ten Kens Nicolas Jaar (he's so good here's a song):
Russian Circles (I don't know if they're up and coming. They have a new album out in October, and I'm pissed I didn't know them too well in 09. In any event, I'd love for them to be there. And here's another video)
As far as Russian Circles go, I've only ever seen them as a mediocre post-rock band. I saw them a few years ago and it was really loud but I was bored to death. If we're gonna get some post-rock love I'd rather some Yndi Halda or Grails.
I think they'd bring an awesome vibe too. Not the typical "Money, Guns, Girls, Drugs" rap that most everyone else is talking about. Just young, (at the risk of sounding redundant) cool kids. Rap about going to parties, ridding bikes and just chilling.
They're still really fresh, really excited about playing shows and love their crowd/fans.
Not the typical "Money, Guns, Girls, Drugs" rap that most everyone else is talking about.
...and there's your mandated per-post quota of ignorance.
Lets look at who played last year. Eminem and wayne?....am i wrong? Look at the top of the rap charts, thats what they are pretty much all talking about. I don't think it's that ignorant. Even Jay-z who put on an awesome show mostly raps about money drugs and girls.
Is there different stuff out there, yeah of course. Is most of it NO NO WORD!!! and money? yep. and you can't deny that.
