enjoy the company of good people (and Juggs should we ever meet.)
I love the distinction!
Everyone that I know from RI are BoSox (like me), but then again, most that I know went to UConn are or transplanted to the Central CT area, so maybe it's an unfair sample?
08/20 is actually by only completely free weekend in August! As long as I can get it off, I'm down!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
LD. In observance of NE ground rules I have to declare my Yankee allegiance but all Bosux debate is welcome and debated in good will.
I'm a Pirates fan. Can I still come or is that to dangerous (in that you all might choke on your drinks while laughing mercilessly at my sad lil' Buccos?)

I'll pat you on the head, and tell you "there there, it'll be alright"

What is it with Rhode Islanders and the fact half of you like the Yankees? Did y'all forget which side of the line you're on?
What's wrong with you heathens? I live in the freakin' SOUTH and even I'm a wicked loyal Sox fan. So suck on THAT, Yankeeslovinfreaks. Don't y'all know only criminals wear pinstripes?
WAITJUSTACOTTONPICKINMINUTE...time out: Cap'nJack's coming, too? One of my all-time favorite Inforoosters of all time? That's it: I'm scouting airfare right.quackin.now! ;D

Last year during Jay-Z, I met some Sox fans from Knoxville. There's definitely a handful down south, even southern born and bred. And that gets a LD seal of approval.
Unlike the native RI folk who are Yankees fans. Or worse: RI Yankees/Patriots fans.
Side thought: During Black Joe Lewis, I had a Yankees fan flip me off randomly because I had the Boston hat on.

Ummm.... duh?! ;D of COURSE I'm coming! Some of my favorite people from the whole wide interwebs gathering in one place, and it's just an hour away? I'll be there with bells on! (...well, not actual bells, unless I end up getting really stinking drunk )
And I don't care if this isn't supposed to be a potluck dinner - knowing me, I'll probably end up coming over with like 2-3 dishes and a couple bottles of some good wine or beer anyway. Guess you'll just have to deal with it.

OK, now my evening To-Do List has 2 bullets:
a. find airfare to this shindig (actually, it might be hard to beat $219 R/T to Boston, but I'd rather fly into Bradley or TF Green to avoid the Masshole drivers - no offense, Jack! - plus, I miss that shoreline drive thru New London Co. & into Mystic...so many good BARS memories there) &
b. change my profile pic to the one where I'm wearin' my Sox hat bought @ Fenway. I like changing it to that one to tease LoveLuckLaughter, that poor misguided Yanks fan!)

None taken - between the road-raging drivers and the abundance of criss-crossing one-way streets downtown, I avoid driving in Boston at all costs whenever possible. Back Bay is on a grid so it's not that bad, but the rest of it just makes my brain explode inside my skull a little bit.
3 beers + cough meds = blurry vision! That was for the incoming flight ONLY, apparently! oops.
$364 R/T to PVD on Delta...but still shopping...
NO, WAIT! MY EYES DECEIVE ME! (I knew I wasn't THAT drunk!) $239.40 R/T from ATL-BOS on AirTran.
But...flying from home airport vs driving to ATL, 120mi away, then landing in Beantown? Yeah, totally worth the extra $ to sleep in. Screw fiscal prudence. Life's short; spend wisely.
Haha, why am I all of a sudden reminded of junior year of high school?
Keep poking around a bit, holls - I just did a quick search and saw Nashville > Boston roundtrips for $260 that weekend and Nashville > Providence R/T for $300, if you don't mind going out of your way a bit.
Keep shopping Holls! You can come up early and leave a little late if you want to hang out since its a bit of a trip and you need an RI fix. We can go get you from CT, PVD, or Boston if you want. Who knows... Scroggie may still be here from NFF if he hides in the basement and does not go home. ;D
Been busy with birthday stuff (always a good year when you reach another one) but will get some pics up and get focused asap.
LD - thanks for the rename!
While you'll have to put up with Quacker being a NY diehard.. all are welcome! (My family are all die hard Boston fans.. makes for fun get togethers. )
And Jack. oh yeah.. bring 'fuds. Were game - 'but dont shoot us'. We will get to planning on a lot more fuds, bevies etc asap.
Holls: Are you aware of Kayak? It searches multiple airlines. Not sure of your timeline, but you can take a look.
NFF - tempted to come down, but just for Saturday only. Not familiar much with Sunday's lineup, and might save up some money going one day rather than both.
As for the 8-20 party, how many people will end up bringing Gansett?
oh oh oh .. the 'with bells on reference'... My sister took a week trip without her man (even older than quacker : ) !!) and he said he'd be at the airport with bells on. He picked her up at TFG Monday - sporting a strip of sleigh bells and a red rose. Awww....... And word has it he got quite a few free drinks at the bar while waiting because of being there 'with bells on'. : ) Had to share.
it's just money... y'all are worth it! After all, I can sell the two front-row tix I have for MMJ that nite in ATL & that'll pretty much cover the cost. Not even Kayak could beat the Delta rate outta Chattanooga instead of driving to ATL or Nashvegas. This means I'll be able to help Jack stock up on tasty nommage & booze...'cause if you met me at Brunch, then you know I like 'em big & stiff (cocktails, that is.)
PS - wow. room's getting fuzzy...NyQuil is gooood stuff! wheeeeeee!!!

Wow I get to meet holls too? So cool!!!
Really stoked this is happening. And I will take all Bucs inspired sympathetic pats on the head I can get. And I'll leave my Stillers jersey at home...
I've been looking for an excuse to make something off this site, perhaps this'll be the occasion...
oh miss v - were you the OP of that link back a few months ago that i can blame for 2 hours of lost time reading all of those recipes instead of being productive! : )
Promised i'd get some pics up so all could get a feel for where we would be meeting. Here's some shots of the aisle of misfits. Its not a castle but we love it.
Room to party and tent out back if desired. Out front is ok too but the not so wild turkeys are often noisy and visiting in the morning.
Or inside - we have 3 couches, several lazy queens, and a few single beds plus lots of floor space for crashing
Cant say you weren't warned Fans of all are welcome however some of the stuff on the walls may make you feel a bit ill.
Oh, and I'm going to Yankee Stadium in a couple weeks. For the McCartney show, not a ballgame. Not sure how I feel about going to the depths of Hell though.
