edit: also knew about them beforehand but not of them.
So if you saw the video, why would you think they were preteens?
I thought I read an article stating that they were 12 or so. I skimmed through it, but remembered the name especially after they were on Coachella's lineup.

just getting into these guys, really really like what i hear so far. will definitely make you nod your head, that's for sure.
i dont really want to comment on whether they deserve all of their hype (i just got radical and a few tyler singles like a day and a half ago, so as of right now i'm pretty obsessed) but i do think their explosion onto the modern music scene is rather fascinating.
it's pretty clear that they are--especially for their age--a group of very talented people. i feel like it's safe to say they have a different attitude than most of those who dominate the popular hip hop scene right now (yeezy just wants you to know how many chains he's wearing, big boi is very talented but his last album was basically all upbeat club/dance stuff and lil wayne is basically a walking ganja plant). then these kids bust onto the scene with a sound that can be unsettling and kind of creepy but is fascinating because they are, indeed, really talented.
pair that with the speed at which information travels on the internet, their natural charisma, a general quack you attitude that people found attractive in groups like PE and Wu Tang, plus the general one-upmanship/beef nature of hip hop and you have a recepie for an explosion just like OFWGKTA is having right now.
will be very, VERY interesting to see how they respond to this first round of new followers. hopefully they are around for a while because they really are talented. .02 cents.
oh, and please be aware that i used those blanket statements about all the other artists just for the sake of convenience. i think they are all very talented and each person's style has its merits. and i certainly think weezy is more talented than a shrub.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the first round of new followers. These kids have been making mixtapes for a few years now and got huge pub last summer.
well then, newest round. whatever round it is, it's clear they are gaining more and more notoriety every day.
the point i was trying to make was more about how, when done properly, people can get huge publicity really fast with the technology at hand. and i think because so many people want to hear the next big thing it only throws fuel on the hype-machine-fire.
Still can't believe you're jocking them. I thought for sure you would have already called a few human rights organizations by now to clean this up. Deep down, I had a feeling you liked rape lyrics.

judging by the fact that this thread has been riding high on the boards despite the fact that Odd Future's not on the lineup -
they'd be a huge get for approximately nothing
and given the fact that these kids know how to perform, there's not much to be afraid of. either you like these guys or you don't, they won't play unopposed but those that can dig it will be there for an awesome set. if it happens. i'm not counting on it, but one can hope. we'll see.

Ok, We have a problem... I just played Odd Future for my boyfriend before he went to work(probably 3 tracks, idk for sure) and he sent me a text on his way to work that said "WOLF GANG" Now the problem is.... Bonnaroo hasn't booked these guys yet!

I still kinda liked them whenever we talked. But let's just say I tend to try and argue against people that I think are over-hyping any artist.

Here's an example of awolfatthedoor's music-oriented conversations.
Random person: Did you hear that new band _________ ? awolfatthedoor: I was really loving their material but then other people started loving them and talking about them all the time. Now I can't stand their music. Random person: Hipster
