Do they still play the old Earl songs live? I thought I had read somewhere that due to Earl's new attitude he doesn't really like any of the old stuff and that they weren't going to perform them live?
That being said I'd really like to see OF with BBNG as the backing band. I'm not a huge OF fan anymore, but I still think seeing them live, especially at roo, would be pretty fun.
I'm pretty sure they don't do "EARL" at the end of the concerts like they used to, since, y'know, he's back. But when Earl came out at the New York show a few months ago, he did quite a few of his own songs from his debut.
I wouldn't expect any of his new material to sound like that, but he knows the fans love that EP like it was their only child, so to cut them out of any potential future sets would be a mistake. Plus, what else is he going to perform? He has a limited number of songs to do live.
I've been to two OF shows, obviously both without Earl, and they were both hype as hell. Easily the hypest shows I've been too. If they were to book them, PLEASE make it a late night show so everyone can go crazy.
yeah, I went to both shows that they did in atlanta last year and I can confidently say that an OF show probably has the hypest crowd I've ever seen.
I've been to plenty of punk and metal shows that have giant mosh pits and circle pits, but OF brings the insanity up another notch.
I'd almost be afraid to be front and center for OF at bonnaroo. I reckon everybody would be crushed.

id be stoked to get up front and center but i know what you mean by the insanity at OF shows. I just think if they were a late night set, it would be just perfect for roo. real nice hype show
From what I can tell, OFWGKTA pits aren't real "pits" like you'd find at a metal/hardcore show, where there are certain rules of etiquitte and decency. It's basically just a bunch of aggressive, obnoxious kids who think it'd be fun to punch and elbow people for no reason.
I like OFWGKTA, but their teenage/young fans are among the worst people on the planet. Just absolute moronic aggression that embraces the worst, most vile parts of OF while missing any and all subtext.
I'm going to see Tyler & Earl at Best Buy Theater in a month with a friend from Fairfield County who likes their rapping but has noooo idea about their live show. It's going to be thoroughly entertaining when I shove him into the pit and he gets back-fisted by some puss-packed tween, then proceeds to start raining haymakers on high school kids while rocking boating shoes.

their more recent shows havent been AS crazy as when they first started touring and what not, i'm not gonna lie it is still crazy as f*ck but i think it would be fun in a roo environment, late night set

It would be awesome to have them do a few sets at Roo. A Frank Ocean set to close a tent pre-HL maybe, then like a LN full OFWGKTA set. Maybe a few other sets with just a few of them as well running during the day.

Have you ever been to Best Buy Theater before? I like it way more than Terminal 5 or The Bowery Conglomerate (as I now call it). The show should be pretty f*ckin' nuts.
I love Tim & Eric, Xavier, ATHF, and all those other odd Adult Swim shows, I just couldn't get into Loiter Squad. If you're gonna have a skit show you have to have it look natural, theirs always just seemed forced.

I read that they were going for a mix of jackass, tim and eric, and prank shows and I think they nailed that. Not everything is straight up skits. Some of the hidden camera stuff is funny.
I just traded my tix to Tyler/Earl (among the other acts: Asher Roth....................................) to go to Frank Ocean tomorrow night. I'll take that.
