One more day until two nights of My Morning Jacket in Louisville! This is one of my favorite bands and they are actually the reason I went to Bonnaroo for the first time. I've now seen mmj a bunch of times since then but never seen them in their hometown. I can't even express how excited I am for Thursday and Friday.

While you are sitting around twiddling your thumbs, pull up a clean version of their Prince tribute from Jazz Fest. The cover of Purple Rain is as good as anyone will ever get. It was unreal. We got the festival version of MMJ, so it was shorter than what you'll get either night. But the setlist (per .fm) was Victory Dance, Compound Fracture, Off the Record, Spring, Believe, Tropics, Circuital, Mahgeeta, Wordless Chorus, this is where I think they brought out Preservation Hall Brass for the remainder of the set, Touch Me I'm going to Scream (2), Sign of the Times, Purple Rain, One Big Holiday.

Beats Antique with Preservation Hall Horns tonight. Explosions tomorrow. Woo.
I heard about the Purple Rain cover and am hoping I get to hear it one of the two nights. If I don't, then I'll check it out afterwards. I'm really hoping they end up playing remenants and highly suspicious too.
I saw Beats Antique sometime last year and it was one of the craziest shows I've ever been too. Helps that I had no idea what to expect going in. So so weird (and awesome). Have fun!

I'll be there, don't have an extra but I'll ask around
Going to night 1 of 3 in a row of Gizzard tonight. Will probably have many bruises and damaged eardrums by Sunday morning.
Can confirm, many bruises and damaged eardrums.
Gizzard is one of the top live bands touring right now.
Anyone wanna back me up? They put on the craziest, most technical, intense, perfect shows. So happy they're starting to get the credit they fully deserve.
Hey MN friends, this is last minute but is anyone interested in going to The Brian Jonestown Massacre tonight? I have an extra pass, you would just need to enter First Ave with me to get in...
