, I'm going to be in/near Richmond on a business trip for work early next month. Flying in June 1st and flying back home June 5th. You going to any shows during that time? I see Phantogram, Billy Idol, and St. Vincent are all playing at The National on consecutive days of the 1st-3rd. Know of anything else?

There's really not much going on those days. The 5th is Future Islands on an island in the river. Then I haul ass to see HolyDrug Couple later that night. I don't know how early you're leaving though. I'd probably do St. Vincent/Sarah Neufeld if I were in town that week. I'll be back on the 5th.
Dammit. I wish HolyDrug Couple was on the 4th. Just saw them at Levitation and they were amazing. Yeah, I'm just going to play it by ear I guess. I've never seen Phantogram before so I'm leaning towards that one.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I seen them in 2010, at a tiny club near New Haven. Was good times.
I know this is the Upcoming Shows thread but I have to go off topic for a bit, went to my first My Morning Jacket concert this past Saturday and had a blast, awesome show, making me even more excited for Roo, but then something really cool happened, I GOT TO MEET JIM JAMES. Dude was super cool, took a picture with me, and signed my poster (now framed), I'm over the moon.
Need some input on which concert I should attend because I haven't seen any of these bands.
Currently have 2 tickets to Purity Ring, Braids, Born Gold
I could sell both and go to The Roots Picnic (The Roots, Eryka Badu, The Weekend, Phantogram, ASAP Rocky, Hudson Mohawk, DJ Windows 98) and probably one aftershow (Questlove, DJ Windows 98, Hudson Mohawk).
I could also sell one and cough up another $20 to see the Roots Picnic and Purity Ring, but would have to go solo to both.

Anyone seen any of these bands recently?
I'm seeing Purity Ring next Friday and am pretty pumped about it. But The Roots Picnic sounds like a lot of fun too. Do those two.

No matter what you choose, choose the Roots Picnic.
Saw Earl Sweatshirt at Emos last night. He did his whole new album and some old stuff off Radicals and EARL and also a few off Doris. Good show. Might go see him in San Antonio tomorrow night.
