I knew they were getting back together for a few shows. They are playing tonight, in LA, with TSOL.
Yes, that TSOL.
I was really only pointing out that even official notices call it "Silver Springs" when it's Silver Spring. I will, in all likelihood, be there however.

Oh, I know. They were probably drunk when they made the poster.
Oh, I'm interested and have been eye balling the date, but it takes a lot for me to get to a show during the work week. With Darkside, who I am really into, playing on Monday night of that week, it will make it that much harder for me to get to. While we are talking about them, where should I start with Skinny Puppy? I have skimmed through a couple of their albums I have seen you post and I think they are very interesting.
Especially for this upcoming tour, listen to the last two albums "handover" and "Weapon". As far as overall, I think their most immediately gratifying album is "Too Dark Park". My personal favorite is "Last Rights", it's quite on the abstract side and more noise than pop, but there are hooks throughout. If you're into the more 80s EBM stuff, "VIVIsectVI" is one of the absolute best, and "Bites/Remission" is old school at its best. If you would like more guitar riffery to "ease" you into it, I'd suggest "The Process" and "Rabies" (which features vocals, guitar, and production from Al Jourgensen when he was actually good).
Honestly, I'd like most to direct you here as an example of what Puppy live is:
better quality exists in the nets, but this is the easiest lead on of any for this live aspect of the band.

Damn, I listened to "Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse" before I read your reply and you didn't recommend it. But, I think it's really good. 200 Years and Chainsaw are standouts. I will try that live video next.

nola gets 2 nights of this bullshit, but hasn't had Phish since 99.
Patterson Hood has been posting lots of pics and praise for that Deerhunter show on the Facebook.
He said it was the best show of the year and he was just at the almost-reunion REM show a couple days prior. That should say a lot about how great Deerhunter was. Deerhunter are one of those bands that are absolutely jaw-dropping when you can catch them in an environment where they have the freedom to do whatever they want.

If you guys get Grinderman, I'm going to start breaking shiz.
I could have sworn he broke out Grinderman for Coachella last year and then basically said he wasn't going to be doing those shows anymore. I could be wrong.
You may be right. I feel like I read that it was the only NA appearance, last year. That may have changed after the fact though. If it was the end, I'm even more pissed.

Considering MGMT at the Tabernacle this week.
It's been a band I have wanted to see for a while but have not got the chance to. I would say they are prob my top 30-40ish bands. Heard some bad reviews from in the past but ticketmaster reviews were ok. I feel like I could maybe hold out till a few fest next year and not be too disappointed. If anyone looooooooved/hated it let me know.

For what it's worth, I do not know anyone who loved their live performance. If they are high on your list and you like their entire catalogue you might want to check them out. I wouldn't get your hopes up to much for a great performance but everyone has their own taste!
