After seeing Radiohead 4 times now, I am convinced there is no such thing as a weak or bad setlist. They could throw darts at a list of their songs and have a great show.
My hope: New song at Bonnaroo.
Same thoughts. I've now seen them 4 times, and each one has been special. I'm super excited that I get to see them 2 more times this year!
That interview suggests that another is coming. It's gotta be at Bonnaroo.... right? RIGHT??

Sometimes things are better the second time around.
I had the chance to goto Coachella weekend 2 and while I thought Radiohead was pretty good, a good portion of the fest-goers seemed to disagree.
Radiohead, especially on this tour, have completely turned their back on the Pablo Honey-Bends-OK Computer eras. A lot of people in the general population obviously haven't heard they barely play anything from these records in the past 10 years.
The show is very different, even for a Radiohead set, they seem to have gotten away from the original composition of many of the songs and are taking a more trance-y rhythmic approach. While I enjoyed this I know many did not. About 1/3 of the way through their set many people started heading back to the campgrounds or to the other tents to see shows.
Anyone think we can expect to see a similar reaction from the crowd at Roo? Remember, King of Limbs is their least successful record to date and their not only playing a large chunk of it but also infusing that KOL sound into a lot of the In Rainbows stuff as well.

Bands do different things as they grow. Would you wanna play the same songs for 20 years? Radiohead is experimenting right now and probably will go back to their hits one day.

Well, I'm not as worried about it for a couple of reasons. First of all, Radiohead will be the only act performing so some audience members will just suck it up and watch the new songs.
Secondly, I plan to be close so I hopefully won't notice if anyone is leaving or not. Yay!
Agreed. I couldn't care less if a bunch people started to leave. I watched their show on the Coachella stream and can definitely say I wouldn't have been one of those people.

It's quite obvious that the band has a decent bit of contempt for these songs, tbh. With the exception of a handful (street spirit and PA come to mind), I think the pre-kid A songs have been at an all time high in terms of sloppiness. They've only played it twice but Planet Telex has sounded pretty crappy, Airbag has been hit or miss, CUTW was a mess the one version I heard, I've heard others say that other versions have been better.
The Kid A and later stuff, however, has been sounding PHENOMENAL. Aside from the new songs, which translate exceptionally well live (when they play Feral on the farm, if you can tell me it didn't get your booty shakin' I'll buy you a beer), from Kid A - In Rainbows has been on point. They're playing Pyramid Song the best they've ever played it, You and Whose army sounds amazing, Kid A sounds awesome.
I promise you that anyone who goes into this set with an open mind and not a "well they better play at least 4 songs from Ok Computer" attitude, you will NOT be disappointed.
The one issue with Radiohead at a festival is they still seemingly refuse to allow for the festival standard large screens on the side of the stage. I did not notice them on the feed at Coachella. They apparently prefer to just use the screens they bring along which are much smaller and show them more artistically. At Lollapalooza in '08, I made sure I was close enough where I could see them from where I was standing, but my friends who got to the set late because of other acts were in the back and they said the energy wasn't too high because you just couldn't see the band at all.

I'm almost certain the side screens were on at Lolla 08.

And they were definitely on at roo '06 as well. They probably just didn't show them in the Coachella stream, because... well... why would they? I'm assuming that what was shown on those screens was pretty similar to the images we were seeing in the webcast.

Good stuff KDT. I agree that TKoL is up there with their best work, although we appear to be in the minority
Thank you, sir. We're definitely in the minority and that's kind of why I wrote it. Much of the reaction to it puzzles me. I'm hoping to maybe get a few people to reconsider it on its own terms.
Having not even been exposed to Radiohead until a couple years ago, I really couldn't care less if they played any pre-Kid A stuff. I don't hate their old style of music, but let's just say I much prefer their newer direction. Wasn't a huge fan of KoL, but they could just play Kid A and In Rainbows and i'd be ecstatic.
It's like how I feel about Nirvana...I know they were revolutionary for their time, but unless you lived through that period, it's hard to "get it". And for the record yes I lived through Nirvana's reign...I was just too young
I'd be sad if we didn't get a few tracks off OK Computer or The Bends. Fake Plastic Trees, My Iron Lung, Street Spirit, Airbag, Lucky, and Karma Police would each be welcome additions to the set. Not that I want ALL of those tracks but a few would be great. Hell I'd like to hear You off Pablo Honey but I'll just keep dreaming.

They've played Karma Police a couple time on this tour, as well as Paranoid Android. Other than those 2 don't expect anything prior to Kid A.

I wouldn't be shocked if their set was a little longer than the rest of the shows on this tour. (I'm hoping anyway.) Although I'd take any of the other songs georger90 mentioned over Karma Police.
11/2/19: Tool 5/17/19: Blues Traveler 5/9/19: Tool 11/10/18: Tenacious D 9/20/18: White Denim 7/23/18: Radiohead 6/4/18: Jack White 5/20/18: Tool 5/18/18: A Perfect Circle 5/18/18: Alice in Chains 5/6/18: Blind Melon
I'm torn down the middle. Part of me wants to remain level-headed and go into Roo expecting 21 songs from them, and be very content with it (in reality I WILL be very content with that). The other part of me wants to think that this is RH's big Roo reunion, and that they will play longer than normal and make it something special to Roo.

I'll guess 26 songs. There's no venue curfew so they can stretch out a bit, but maybe they won't take it as crazy far as they did in 2006. If I hear 26 songs in a row, played by Radiohead, at Bonnaroo....I'll be okay with that.
