to anyone that says the crowd sucked...front of the soundboard stage left was raging at all the right moments and dead silent at the right moments (you and who's army, house of cards etc). One of the more respectful crowds i've ever been a part of when it came to paying attention to the thing you came for...MUSIC!!
I forget what song it was, but the crowd was incredibly subdued and this drunk chick comes through and screams some obnoxious thing at her friend behind her, completely ruining the moment. I loved how the crowd was loud at the right moments and quiet at the right moments. Never see that kind of thing these days.
I don't know if I have ever heard the farm as quiet as they were during Daily Mail, at least from where I was standing the crowd was perfect. Except for a couple a holes who pushed their way right beside us and then just stood there and yelled at eachother until finally pushing farther forward.

As expected, Fridays Radiohead show was great. They truly are one of the worlds top live bands. The light/stage show was fantastic to see in a setting such as Roo.
...BUT, I was a little dissapointed with the set list that they chose. I feel it was geared to those people who have become Radiohead fans in the last 5 years. Choosing to play 75% of King of limbs and 6 songs off of In Rainbows seems strange when they have such a large catalogue to choose from. Half of the show was made up of those 2 albums???!!!! This is more of a rant than a complaint about the show, but without the ridiculous stage show, this wouldnt have been all that special. Out of the 3 times Ive seen them this was #1 in terms of stage show, but #3 in terms of setlist/entertainment.
Also, What the hell was Thom thinking when he teased us with that Jack White non-sense???

The only way you would have been disappointed with that setlist, or the style of the setlist, is if you haven't been paying attention to ANY of their shows from this year. I can see being disappointed that they didn't play "Pyramid Song," or that they chose to wait until Chicago to play "Full Stop," but this set is absolutely typical for the tour.
I have been paying attention to what they have been playing, but my post was based on their show on Friday. So I guess the same goes for the rest of their tour in my opinion.
The only songs I was really bummed we didn't get was National Anthem, Sardines, and Full Stop. Especially considering they had just played those the week of 'roo. Still not complaining as it the best show I've ever seen.
Im not sure what youre trying to prove by being confrontational (as usual). All I was saying is that I was disapointed in their setlist choice for Roo. I get what youre saying about the rest of the tour and what I "should have " expected, but I guess I was hoping for something a little more at Roo. I wasnt trying to get into an argument about their tour and their setlist choices for it. Youre a smart guy, I think you can understand where I was going with my original post. Lets not twist this into something its not. I was simply stating my displeasure with their choice of songs for their Friday show.

They're just not gonna play that Big Hits RHCP-style set you've always dreamt about. Time to stop chasing the dragon and be thankful for the killer, new stuff they continue to produce. I was hoping for older material myself, but walked away dragging my jaw across the What field.

I think their newer material comes off the best live personally...at least in rainbows and KoL...also felt that their newest songs (supercollider, identikit, staircase) all sounded MUCH better than when i saw them in StL. pretty excellent show. i might be wrong was awesome.
as for the crowd, i have never seen so many fucked up, pushy assholes shoving through the crowd when there was nowhere to go. if you chose to go see foster the people instead of camping out, sorry, you SHOULD be near the back, not think that youre entitled to step over/around/through everyone who was waiting there before you.

Also full stop kinda sucks, so don't be too sad you missed it.
Wrong. It's been a little sloppy the two times they've played it but the actual song itself seems like it's gonna be a fucking killer track. Hope we get it tonight in Camden.
Also yeah guys, if they played High and Dry/Fake Plastic Trees/Whatever the fuck old bends songs you wanted to hear, they would just play them like shit anyway, and then everyone would still be complaining. I personally would rather a set filled with energetic, exciting, enthusiastic performances of post Kid A tracks, then a set filled with lackluster, bored and lifeless performances of Planet Telex and Just.

Not sure, I've never seen this. You sure you're logged in? I would say make sure you check the "keep me logged in box" and maybe that'll fix it.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

juggs isnt being a dick, hes right... anyone who was disappointed with that set came in with unrealistic expectations a big hits-rhcp-style set wouldve been cool for casual fans or fans who (for whatever insane reason) dont think kol was very good, but for passionate radiohead fans that set was a perfect reflection of what the band looks/sounds like in 2012. the new songs were filled with such amazing energy, and we got a few excellent songs from each of the 2000s albums, i wouldnt have asked for anything else. oh and i can never really tell from crappy youtube videos but full stop definitely has some real potential, and the visuals they use for that song are pure insanity
It's like, if I hand you a sandwich and am all "hey man, have a bit of this delicious ham sandwich," and then you take a bite and hand it back and are all "I'm disappointed, I was hoping for a turkey sandwich," you'd be insane
I personally loved the set, with exception to Morning Mr. Magpie and Idioteque. Maybe I'm remembering weird, but both of those songs sounded completely jacked with the band being way out of sync. I've heard Idioteque live enough to know that it was definitely off.
Other than that, fantastic show. These guys are just so damn good. I nearly passed out when Kid A came on and had to sit for a couple of minutes so that was kind of disappointing, but after that I felt fine and made it through the rest of the show dancing and singing at the top of my lungs.
BTW, I was left center in the vicinity of the two clowns who were waiving flags. What a bunch of idiots. The people behind me were pissed because they were effectively blocking their ability to see the set completely and it started getting pretty testy until one of them finally pulled their flag down almost midway through the set. People are just incredibly inconsiderate. Others were bulldozing through just after the set started and knocking people over to get good position which was also lame.
... and what was up with the damn fireworks? Fucking morons.
Actually with the train wreck that was idioteque a few nights earlier in Newark, I paid extra special attention to Idioteques syncopation and thought it was fucking spot on. Magpies got a weird groove to it live so maybe that threw you.
It sounded like there was a lot reverb during those two songs, but I was a little lit so maybe that factored in. I started getting kind of dizzy during Morning Mr. Magpie and like you said that's got a weird signature to begin with.
I forgot about Paranoid Android as well. I couldn't really hear the bass line during the first two verses and that seems to be the case every time I've heard that song live. I'm beginning to wonder if they're aware of this? Overall it was still really, really awesome.

It isnt a "right or wrong" debate. I simply said that I was disapointed that they chose to play sooo many songs off their last two albums (thats how I felt and thats how I still feel). I understand that they have been playing that material this tour, but Im allowed to hope for a few tunes that arent played as often. This doesnt make me any less of a fan than you or the guy next to you. Its personal preference.....I like KoL (Alot) but, I like a TON of their other stuff as well. Youre making a sweeping statement by refering to me as a casual fan while describing those who only enjoy material from the last 5 years as "passionate fans"??? Im not sure how you came up with that logic?? Juggs took what I said the wrong way (or maybe what I was trying to say didnt come out the right way). It doesnt matter at the end of the day because most people on here would think it was magical if Thom Yorke blew a fart into the Mic and called it their latest single.

i did not intend to call you a casual fan or claim that i am a bigger fan than you (although now i see how it seemed that way). im sorry if you were insulted. i just find it VERY hard to believe that someone who was paying attention to the setlists on this tour and really loves KoL would be disappointed by that performance
edit- im new to posting in forums, so im still getting the hang of making passionate arguments in print without antagonizing people or making an ass of myself. so im sorry if im offending anyone, i feel like 50% of everything im trying to say gets lost in translation when i put it in print

Anyone know what songs were playing on the What stage right before Radiohead came on? They were mostly strange, minimal electronic. I've been trying to figure it out since I heard them.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
