JHo - I don't think that Delta is included in Cheap-O - but they have flights that are 1-stop and about $200 less than the cheapest on Cheap-O. Also wanted to say that if you can save $ by driving to the ATL and flying out with us, you KNOW you're welcome to stay with me, leave your car in my garage, etc. Druid, you too.
Im basically planning on booking flights after we get tix, and then sometime in Nov or Dec, and planning on a minimum of $1200. Im pretty sure I'll fly Delta bc we're at the hub, and I want the SKYMILES. ;D ...and because I may be able to save money using my already earned skymiles.
Does anyone have tips on booking international flights?
I use Cheapoair, but also look on the individual airline sites. We flew AA last year to London and the flights were around $900 each. I shopped for months and that was about the best price without 3 layovers. We flew through Atlanta, so you may save some money by driving there and flying direct.
I would much rather fly out of Atlanta. I despise the O'hare airport with every fiber of my being. I will share my horror story one day. (it's just too ugly to put in print)
I despise Heathrow as a connecting airport. It's never been a final destination though, so we'll see how it turns out this time. ...effing Heathrow. Agreed, it's too ugly to put in print.
Know where it's super awesome to fly in as a final destination? Stuttgart. A) The customs guys are brilliantly good-looking. B) I AM German, and I was terrified when he was asking me where I was travelling to in Germany - due to the brilliant good looks, and the uniform... My sister stood behind me giggling while I stammered out our main destinations.
I can not WAIT for this trip, bc you know, GLASTO - and bc I get to tag on some German time with my fam. I LOVE GERMANYYYYYYYYYYYY.

Heathrow is great as a final destination. I've never had any issues.

We stayed by Heathrow and took a bus to the fest from the airport. Should have researched better where the hotel was so we didn't have to carry all of our stuff when going to the hotel. OTherwise its a good strategy. There are lots of various bus pick up points in London to the fest.
I am planning on going than heading to Finland to visit my mom afterwards. It's possible I might bail and just go to Finland. Going to play it by ear for now. Not sure if I can get any of my friends to roll there with me.
Yep I'm 99% in if I get a ticket. I still have to work on the logistics with work and the money but I think I can make it work. I, like Mayo, would be heading to Germany afterwards and visiting with family.
As for flying I have no idea how I'm doing it yet but there is a decent chance I'll be flying into Germany so I can drop some stuff off there and just bring the essentials to Glasto, plus I've heard that for Glasto flying into mainland Europe and taking the train in can be a money saver.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind. You have family in Germany also?

Ya my Mom is German and met my Dad when he was stationed there in the mid 80s. Back in High School I went there every summer and stayed with the Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles. I haven't been since 2007, though.

September 30th is the last day to register. Still trying to see if I can get someone else to go with from DFW. A little over two weeks until tickets go on sale.
If anyone else needs to send me their info, please do so this week! I will compile a spreadsheet and send it out to everyone's e-mail address at some point this week so keep a look out.
Let's all plan to be on facebook when tickets go on sale. I will start a group message on Saturday during the day so we are all ready when the on-sale time comes. If I'm not FB friends with you yet, please send me your profile link and we will remedy that!
I wound up switching shifts with someone so that I am off work that day. I figure we will have a 4-5 hour window to get tickets, then they will be gone.
P.S. If we don't get these tickets, I'm gong to pitch a fit. Like throw things fit.

When do tickets actually go on sale?
Either way its going to be a fun night, I have a big project due at 10pm Sunday night, they have us turn them in early so we get nice and rested for the presentation of it the next day. So much for that
Right now I have 6 of us (including myself) on the list. Mayo has not sent me her info or the Edwards' info, so the total is at 9 of us currently shooting for tickets.
Druid, we may need to talk flight/hotel strategy when we go out on Tuesday. I need someone to split a hotel with before/after Glasto!

I am moving to Germany in March and will be living in Stuttgart for the next couple years. Since Bonnaroo is out, my wife and I decided that we will do Glastonbury this year. Thanks for all the info in this thread.
Stillwater! COOL! My great uncle and aunt live in Freiberg am Neckar, and one of their daughters, my 2nd cousin lives in Stuttgart. So my sibs and I generally fly into Stuttgart when we go to Germany. LOVE that place. Hopefully we'll see you there, like JHo said!
