Beach House is too big for Thursday now. I would say the next time we see them they might be too big for a tent. That being said, I would love for them to be on the farm.
I would also second or third Phantogram and Tame Impala, 2 very impressive live acts. I would also throw Nosaj Thing, Girls, This Will Destroy You, and Plants and Animals into the running

And for god's sake let's open up at least the Which Stage. The tents were too crowded to get a good spot without camping for at least an hour on Thursday.

THANK YOU. This year was ridiculous. I really would have liked to foregone suffering through Best Coast.
I haven't listened to Murder By Death in years, but I used to really be into their stuff. I kind of picture them more a tent opener, like a really great show in the blazing heat, but that's just me.
I missed Thursday this year, but I've heard horror stories of the crowds. I think bigger up and coming bands on the Which Stage could keep the Thursday feel while cutting back on crowds. Sleigh Bells (apparently) could've pulled this off this year, and I'm sure a few others could have, too. I think by February or March 2012 we'll know who is too big for tents.

I've been listening to some Moogfest bands I've never heard of, and some would definitely make great Thursday shows at roo. The Naked + Famous and Little Dragon are both pretty cool stuff.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
I don't know if they'd be a Thursday night set or not, but I can't think of a single reason why Lightning Bolt shouldn't be there next year.
I would be behind this 110%. I've seen them more times than I can count, from the smallest basement to pretty big club shows, and everytime it's just as awesome.
Opening up Wednesday has definitely made it necessary to open the Which early. It was ridiculous this year.
Totally agree. People have been wanting this for a while and it would give Thursday a while new dynamic. If it does happen do we get get a top 20 act in that slot?
^^^Yes Thursday was crazy crowded this year because everyone seemed to be there. I was camped in pod 11 by the gates and there were barley any cars still coming in on Friday morning. This is something that they will have to correct. I was relieved on Friday when the What area was open and it did not feel nearly as over crowded.
Did anyone check out this show? I wanted to check out the Sheepdogs but totally forgot about the show and I was walking passed the tent and saw the sign. I walked in during Lelia's set and she blew me away and she is so sexy. The Sheepdogs play great music and I think both are up and coming bands and could play Thursday day sets next year.
They are on the border between Cafe and Thursday but they have 3 really good albums and put on a hell of a live show. I have seen them described as anti-folk whatever the fuck that means

I saw them, and it was a pretty unique experience. Both bands were really good, but it was obvious most everybody there was there for sheepdogs. O yea and J. Pharaoh introducing the bands was pretty cool.
