As if we didn't know, I am putting money on Disco Biscuits for sure this year. Other than the every other year trend, they just put out a new album. Hears to hoping I'm dancing past sun rise again!
Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 or Antibalas would be a great late-night. You cannot beat Afrobeat at 1-2 in the morning. Femi Kuti's show in 2009 was probably the most fun I've ever had at a late night.

Friday Which- The Black Keys (MMJ '08) This: OFWGKTA > Blackstar (would be amazing) That: 12th Planet > Portgual. The Man Other: People in Planes > Graveyard
Saturday What: Daft Punk This: Mac Miller > Jedi Mind Tricks That: Chronic Future > Streetlight Manifesto The Other: B.B. King > Gov't Mule
I want all of the 2012 LN's to be artists who have never played Roo before
Yeah, it sure would suck if we got MMJ, Radiohead, and Neil Young LN
I'm all for diversity and bringing in new blood at Bonnaroo. But the veterans (Galactic, MMJ, Robert Randolph, Flaming Lips, etc.) always bring something new and exciting to the table. It's never stale or boring. They know how special this festival is, because they helped build it. I'd much rather have someone like that playing late night. New acts like Kanye and Lil Wayne may have sold alot of tickets, but they left fans with a bad taste in their mouth.
P.S. That was not a knock on hip-hop acts in general. They were just the first two LN busts that came to mind
^^I mostly agree with that, except I'd like to see them at the beginning of late night instead of the end. I just didn't really have it in me by 2am Saturday night to go through a high energy show like Gogol - my single biggest regret from this Roo . Bah. Oh well, at least they do the club circuit pretty regularly...
Switched Grinderman and Tom Tom Club, also don't really get Soulwax into BJM but I like both so it works for me.
Yeah, that one was more for lack of a better place to put them than for any stylistic similarities. And maybe not so much with late nights, but Roo has been known to schedule some very different acts to perform on the same stage.
And you're right - the Grinderman/Tom Tom switch makes a lot more sense.

I don't really get it when people put up some kind of prospective late night schedule and there are only two dance acts, one of whom is Daft Punk
and list a bunch of acts that would be kinda boring latenight anyway, without really anything at all added from them playing after dark. I mean, there'll always be a handful of acts each festival who play latenight even though they don't have to at all. But realistically any given latenight schedule will lean towards dance music and away from B.B. King
Oh, and quack trying to bring all new artists to latenight or to Bonnaroo in general. Give Robyn, Deerhunter, and Animal Collective late night sets and I'll be happy. Throw in Yeah Yeah Yeahs on the Which Stage at night and I can die peacefully.
Not that it will ever happen, but ELO late night (or ever) would be so damn awesome.
IF ELO reformed they would probably headline but that aint happening. I would love to see the Brazilian Girls come back and get a nice late night spot though.

Yeah it was tough but great as well. I left to go sit on the bench between The Other and This to rest for like 30 minutes. That was my biggest regret besides missing Band of Skulls.

I skipped the first set of bands to rest for Gogol and afterwards I went to STS9 stood there for 2 minutes and knew I couldn't last any longer.

I would LOVE some LN Brazilian Girls! I've seen them 3 times, although not in a long time. Two of those were at Roo 07, their normal set and their Solar Stage set. They're such a great live band!
Also, when I saw them in Knoxville for Sundown in the City (a free concert downtown that AC books) they dedicated Pussy (great song for those who don't know) to all the people hoping to get laid that night. They also dedicated another song to the Knoxville Police Department.

The Brazilian Girls/STS9 late night is one of my personal favorites in Bonnaroo history.
