Ahhhh! I had the stuffed up nose and fever fun stuff last week Tues.-Thursday and by Saturday I thought I was well! Then, Sunday, I felt a little congested in the back of my throat, although my nose was mostly clear, and woke up this morning with a throat that itches like mad on the outside and is sore on the inside. This afternoon I started hacking stuff up. I thought I was done with this!! This is so weird, I didn't get sick at all after my first two 'roos but this one is killing me!
The worst part is not knowing whether to go to the doctor or not. It seems like a lot of you have but I'm still not sure yet... I'll see about tomorrow I guess.
I've been neti-potting 2x a day, and it has helped with the sneezing and runny nose. However, the lungs are a different matter. Still coughing up fun stuff, albeit less often than right after Roo.
Wow, glad to know I'm not the only one who came back with a fever, nasty cough, stuffed up nose, sore throat, and rash. I'm still hacking shit up. At least the sore throat went away a few days ago!

Thought it was just a cough, I'm rarely sick.... I did not end, went to the DOC got some meds, feeling better, slight cough and sore throat...Add to things to first time roo goes should know "Wear a mask or bandana around nose and mouth during dust storms" Now we know why all those cowboys wore them
I never post on here just read, but I figured I'd share my terrible Bonnaflu as I called it heading to the hotel Sunday night after roo. I went to the med tent Sunday because my throat was sore and swollen I couldn't even speak. They gave me some lozenges that didn't really help. Monday the full blown cold hit and it was terrible stuffed up in a car for 16 hours. I was terribly stuffy and congested with wheezing and a terrible cough along with feeling like a complete zombie. Ever since then I've been sick with a fever that just won't go away and it's been 2 weeks now. I took off of work and when I went back I had to leave early because I felt like I had to pass out from wheezing, not being able to breathe, and being extremely week. I should also add that before going to roo I had my wisdom teeth taken out three weeks before. Saturday at roo my cheek got extremely swollen on the one side and started to hurt, so I made a dentist appointment for when I got back and that side wound up getting infected like a month later. Bonnaroo hit me hard this year. I just don't want to feel sick anymore!

I have to think it's not just the dust but more the pesticides they used on the grass. I'm still sick, two weeks later. My brother works in dust like this and doesn't get this sick.

I figured out how to get rid of the sinus infection. Bourbon. Lot's of bourbon. That's what I did two nights ago and I woke up with no sinus trouble yesterday. Hung over, yes. Sinus infection, no.
Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of this damn cough...
Bonnaflu hit me hard this year - even worse than in '07's "Dustaroo"! I got home from the farm on Monday; was in the doc's office Wednesday morning and out from work the rest of the week! One full week of a Z-Pack & Prednisone later, I feel like a thousand bucks! (won't feel like a million bucks til I quit coughing up all this lung butter!)
Bottom line: a strong Rx is what it takes to kick this. Either that, or Hoover suction to aspirate your lungs. But most HMOs won't cover the latter...trust me, I contemplated it!

A very wise woman introduced me to this saying: "A shot in a glass is better than a shot in the ass"
Irish is my whiskey of choice but I'm sure bourbon is just as effective.
I'm still sick. I was a wreck for the 2-3 days after getting back, but my sinuses and chest are still messed up. Deep lung-y cough combined with constant sinus drip.

I was in BFE, so it wasn't quite as dusty there although I got a good dose of it in Centeroo when the wind kicked up. I did hack up a loogie after leaving, but other than that, no problems.
