Wow, i'm lucky. I had my tent door slashed and my spraypaint bag and medical/body supplies taken from my tent. My entire luggage was turned in my tent and I had to go replace most of the body supplies but 12hrs later found all my stuff strewn across someone else's camp ground...
With only one can taken?!!? what's up with that
but i'm lucky, hope the karma police catch up to all these folks
This is why I got a locker while camping in TO. My wallet and phone stayed in there throughout Roo. Had nothing except clothes and my camping stuff in camp.
Jeez, so many stories of theft this year! It seems like there's more and more of this every year the music line-up gets more "diverse". Luckily for my group we were careful with our things, had awesome neighbors, and kept the car locked up.

In hindsight that would've been perfect. When I got there $40 for the weekend seemed a little steep plus i had never had problems before. If I camp TO again a locker will definitely be in my future!

Wow. We were in pod 10 or 11 was never really sure, but we had nothing taken. Was very careful and left nothing out but chairs tho. Did see a sketchy group of gangsta looking people, they tried selling us all kinds of garbage drugs and then lingered around our site awhile after we said no thanks. Made me nervous so we took extra caution with our things. Sorry to hear people were jacked tho.
We were in pod 10, and luckily none of my neighbors got robbed. I sleep in the back of my SUV so I always lock up before I go out, but saturday night we came back and all of our chairs and stuff had been stacked up in an odd pattern.. are there poltergeists at bonnaroo?? Bummer to everyone who got robbed. I feel like the scene was very sketchy this year
For anyone wondering how we got their plate # here is the story, we woke up the morning after the robbery and a man came to our camp and seen our tent slashed open and asked if we were robbed.... of course we replied yes and the man began to tell us his story from the night before...... he and his wife were in their tent having a coffee before bed or what-not at around 8:30-9:30pm friday and the zipper opens..... its two males (white males) with t-shirts that read BONNAROO on the front and SECURITY on the back but he said the t-shirts didnt look official and the two men said they were just making sure everyone had enough water and zipped their tent back up and carried on about 20 yards down the road to our tent.... the man who was with his wife in the tent felt that something was very off about these guys so he turned on the digital camera they brought with them and he walked down the road and snapped a nice-clear picture of the assholes plate number.
we got back packs stolen with most of our clothes, 2 cartons of cigs, a mandolin, a TENS unit, 100 dollars cash, an Iphone, they broke our coleman lantern and slashed our tent so both of those items are useless and the thing i am so confused by is why in the fuck they would take a sandwich bag of Q-tips... seriously... i mean it, i had a bag laying out by itself and all it had in it was about 20-30 q-tips.... our buddies next to us got toiletries stolen as well and some clothes and jewelry too.
Luckily, I was located in pod 2 and no one around us got any Leno stolen. However, as I arrived back to my campsite Saturday night, someone had jimmied into our car and had left wide open all of doors and the trunk. Nothing was stolen, thankfully, which was surprising because I had accidentally left my wallet behind sitting on the front seat with $200 in it.
But it was very odd, especially since our car had been locked prior to us leaving.
Sorry to hear about the shadiness that hit some people.
We were in Ace Ventura in Pod 9 and the dudes next to us got their sh!t stolen, including their car keys. They had to get their car towed out on Monday morning.
Ryan and I saw a dude getting detained by the mounties and the cops on 4-wheelers right by our site too. Apparently he was "jacking" campsites. He was a dirty wook looking creature.

I learned very quickly at Langerado to always leave your valuables at home and if not, keep them locked in the glovebox. Festivals are a goldmine for pickpockets and thieves and leaving Leno in the seat of your car will just entice them to break in, especially given the likelyhood that they won't be caught.

Yeah, it was an extremely silly oversight for me to do. Luckily, I had locked most of my cash, iPod, house keys and credit cards in the glove box just in case something terrible happened and left my wallet out so that I wouldn't forget it.
Especially after hearing about the large amounts of stolen items this year, I'll be paying more attention in the future; that's not a lesson I really care to learn the hard way.
My cousin was a first timer and fell asleep at our camp with his wallet right next to him on a cooler. Got jacked but luckily he only had less than $100 left as this was Saturday and he found his wallet in our tent area so we didn't have to deal with the hassle of flying without an ID
Karma will catch back up to them. When I was in the pit at MMJ a girl that I don't know left her bag with me while she went to the back of the pit to eat some corn. She was gone almost an hour and my buddy went through her bag and took her really nice camera and put it in his bag. I made him put it back in her bag and while we were leaving he asked me if I believed in karma. I told him ya and tried to explain my theory. He thought a good dead becomes a bad one and so forth. I explained to him that it was a good dead will have another good dead and so forth. That night he lost his really nice camera in centeroo. Karma is a bitch and I don't really know if I can call him my buddy anymore after that.

Camped near pod 4 , we had the bag for our canopy stolen at some point during the weekend . It was underneath my truck after I set up camp and never thought anyone would bother looking there or stealing an empty bag/case for an ez up , it was the only thing left out at camp when we would leave so I am thankful we locked everything else up.

i was in lando calrissian, the hot ticket item seemed to be hydration packs. 4 different sets of neighbors claimed to have had them stolen over the weekend, some containing nothing others with wallets and car keys in them.

We were also camped in Pod 11. Several shady characters rolled through our camp, but we had nothing stolen, fortunately. It's awful that so many people experienced theft.
Report your theft to a supervisor, it'll help them to put more security next year. Even if they act like they don't care, you should still do it.
Lock your tents, keep your valuables in the car, make friends with all your neighbors, these will all help prevent theft. Bad things happen, but if you do nothing to prevent them you are equally at fault.
Also, you can get creative. A friend of mine cut a hole in his sleeping back and put on a velcro seam for his credit card and cash. When his tent got ransacked the one year, they never found it.
I didn't steal anything but I did have sexual relations in the neighbor's tent while they were gone because I was really messed up and everyone was sleeping in our RV.
Needless to say, they came back and it wasn't pretty. I deserved it.

This is probably the best Bonnaroo story I have ever heard. I want more details as to what they did when they came back to find you smashing in their tent.
I was in Pod 2, and someone stole my shoes. Of all things, my dirty shoes. They were a nice comfy pair of North Face Base Camps too. Next to the shoes? 2 coolers filled with beer, packs of smokes, an MP3 player and small speakers and practically half of everything we brought because my friend was an idiot (he left my trunk open all day one day).
Honestly, dirty Roo shoes are the last thing I would ever consider, that's just gross.
My neighbor's wallet was stolen, felt really bad for her.
POD 9 here. Nothing stolen. HOWEVER, I being an overall first-timer and general phobe about my belongings, literally kept nothing but my air mattress, pillow, and blanket in my tent while I was gone.
Our neighbors didn't have any problems to my knowledge, but one group of 20 (obnoxious wiggers) barely ever left their campsite. So we kind of had watchdogs.

Well it's kinda underwhelming but alright. They got back (2 rednecks) and I was like "Whoops! Sorry getting clothes on now!". I then came out and they had their arms folded and looked pissed and wouldn't look at me in the eye. I asked "Are you guys really mad? I'm sorry.." The one guy who owned the tent was like "That's my tent dude. How would you feel if you came up to your tent and saw some people f***ing in it? I'll get over it". Then the other guy said "When we first saw you guys in there I about went in there and decked your ass because I thought you were stealing our shlt".
That was about the end of it. It was a really cool experience though because the tent was right next to the road and the sides were mesh so you could completely see through it. Everyone was getting a show...there were tons of people gathered around.
I was camped near Pod 11, had my camera stolen overnight Saturday night sometime...didn't realize it though until I got home. Have to make the trek back to Manchester to file police report for insurance.
