No probs here. We were in pod 10 almost to pod 11 right off of pete rose way. How did you get the plate number and nothing done about it right then? Just wondering. Thieves suck. Hopefully it works out foryou.
Neighbors in Pod 9 got terribly jacked. Had to have their car towed after keys, a wallet, and other stuff was lifted. My buddy is convinced someone was poking around in his tent, too. Thankfully, our local thieves seemed to be only interested in the real valuable stuff, which we all pretty much keep on our persons.
My first year with the theft thing being around my site, but not all that surprised. Saw a methy looking character getting pinched by local police and horse folk on Sunday, but apparently it wasn't soon enough.
My neighbors in Pod 1 got jacked and lost 1 purse, 3 wallets, and 3 cell phones. But they also left it all sitting on a table under their EZUPs while they were asleep. Idiots. Keep that Leno locked in your car or with you inside your tent.

Um, if you have their plates, it's time to tell the police.

Or it could be time for you to actually read the post in which he said he filed a police report already.

My boyfriend and I were camped between Pods 10 and 11 (roughly...we were never quite sure what our site was named) and Friday night we came back to find a hole slashed in our tent. Nothing looked disturbed, but we soon realized that they took, of all things, his backpack containing only his clothes and deodorant. Later, we found that some of our neighbors had their tent broken into also and they took one guy's backpack also, but at least did him the courtesy of dumping his clothes out first. It was really disappointing to come back to that and extremely uncomfortable for my BF to wear the same clothes for the next two days. Bummed us out.

During the start of the Friday late nights I was walking back to camp for some party favors and witnessed two guys with flashlights going through my neighbors site. I asked what they were doing and one of them asked if it was my site. After I said no, but I know the people staying there he said "Well, are they here now? Then what the quack does it matter to you?" After I told them it didn't matter if they were there or not his buddy threw down a bag and walked off. After a few more words the other guy left and then shortly after my neighbors showed up. I hate thieves.

This barely counts, but... My girlfriend and I were napping under the mist tent over by The Other Tent at about 11 Sunday morning. I left to go get some water and when I came back someone had snatched her sunglasses that were lying on our blanket next to her. They were no more than maybe six inches from her head. But yeah, that doesn't really compare to any of these other stories.
My friend got his backpack with 500 dollars and credit cards in his wallet stolen. It was kind of his own fault for leaving it out in front of the tent overnight, though.
We were in Pod 4 right at the base of the clock tower ( curse you clock tower...saving that for another thread) our row was hit hard... 4 people had their stuff stolen on saturday night. Mostly wallets, money, backpacks, cameras... each tent stated that their stuff was in the tent in a bookbag and all was stolen. One lady stated they actually came into her tent while she was sleeping and took her stuff! It was crazy, but the Roo gods saved us that night, since we had accidentaly locked everything in our car, including our keys!
Was in handicap access camping- wallet and ipod with all my tunes : ( - but that's not as much of a loss as the above. this happened early Sunday morning. We had to get home- called the county sheriff's office - can't file a report unless you're present. Hope all of you cancelled your cards right away. Next time will also keep a record of what's in my wallet

Oddly enough, our site did not get anything stolen - that we noticed anyway. Everyone at my site was drunk (among other things) pretty much 24/7, we hardly put anything away at night or when we left for Centeroo, and to top it off our camping area was crawling with wooks. It's a Bonnaroo miracle for sure.
My hearts go out to those of you that did get robbed. Some people are absolutely soulless... but don't worry, their lives are (or will become) more miserable than you can even imagine... So while you lost a lot of money or some valuable possessions, they lost their humanity and heart... probably a long time ago. I think, in the end, you win.
My one neighbor got some cash stolen Sunday morning.
I've never had anything stolen. I have a habit of not bringing anything I would miss. Everything is either in my bag that's with me all of the time or in the car. When I do sleep I use my bag as an extra pillow.
BUT....On Thursday evening when I walked to my site I had two very large men sitting in my chairs. When I walked up to them they didn't get up, or even say hi. One of them was bagging coke and throwing the excess plastic on the ground under my EZ up.
When I asked why they were at my tent and in my chairs they just said their camp was far away. I continued some small talk with them telling them they should get up and leave. But I wasn't to worried because I found the whole thing funny. After a few minutes one of them asked if I partied. That's when I was like "No, but I am obviously pregnant and would like to sit in my chair." They then got up and walked away while yelling at my neighbors for not telling them this was not their campsite. They walked two cars down and sat on the hood of the car and continued business. That's when we had to tell them that the car wasn't theirs either.
Several tents in tent only were robbed Friday night. We made it back there around 2 or 3am and actually saw the guys running from security, who were slowly walking in with flashlights. The cops didn't get off their horses and didn't go off the main road. In fact, we told a cop a few hours later that one of the guys "is right there," and pointed at him. She didn't get off her horse and do anything. We figured it was probably worthless. One of the guys said he got his shit stolen, but his wallet was left with cards and ID in it and his iPhone was found at the Manchester public library. He assumed it was locals who stole it.
But if you have a license plate number, you probably have a pretty good lead. The police should be able to do something with that info, right? Or at least you can do an online lookup and post the name of the owner of the car.
OK In the midst of all of these thefts, here's a feel good/got lucky story. We were camped in Han Solo. On Friday night we were feeling pretty good if you know what I mean, headed out to see some shows, put all of the valuables in the drivers side floor of the truck (nikon camera, 2 wallets, plus plenty of misc stuff we wanted to be safe. 6 hours later when we returned, the drivers side door was WIDE OPEN! My heart dropped until we saw all our stuff untouched! When we left we walked away from the passenger side and brain farted the other door! Thank you to all the honest campers around us!
Access Camping was hit hard Monday morning. We turned around and looked back and our 2 duffel bags were gone. Thankfully, there was nothing of value to thieves taken, only things that are expensive to replace and meaningful to us. They missed my hubby's Rx meds, my iPad, our iPods, wallets... just about anything they were looking for, they missed.
What they did get is all our toiletries and clean clothes, almost all of the socks and underwear that I own since I tend to overpack, my Wilco t-shirt, my solar phone charger, all of my washable menstrual pads (this is a real bitch, they are expensive to replace. I wish they had been dirty and the thieves had thrust their immoral hands right into them), my brand new Bonnaroo only Nomadic State sandals, and my trusty toiletries bag that I have super organized with everything I need including a new pair of contacts. My hubby lost his keys, some scrub pants and socks and undies.
It's a terrible thing to end Bonnaroo on, but I know some people got hit way worse than us. We were super lucky, really. We were super vigilant about thieves too, but they are crafty little quackers.
Well, it was completely my fault, but we were in rocky balboa just north of shakedown and we had 2 bookbags stolen with our wallets and camera in them Saturday night.
We came back to take a nap after Eminem and we stupidly left our bookbags laying up by our tent while we went to the bathroom and they were gone.
The only thing I am really bummed about is the pictures and video on my camera

I was in Access and these 3 guys were walking around and they literally were staring into my neighbors van. I asked if they were lost and they said they were trying to find water. I handed them a bottle and one dude just sat down in my buddy's chair as he got up to get a drink.
I told them they had to leave as we were getting ready to leave as soon as the cop staying next to us returned. For some odd reason, they took off real fast and left the bottled water (only slightly drunk out of) behind.

Yikes! We were in Pod 11 but luckily everything went untouched. There was someone poking around outside our tent while we were sleeping Saturday night, but when they saw our light inside the tent they split.
I was camping with about 7 people and one had a lot of stuff stolen sometime between Saturday and Sunday that he had left out under our shade tent.
Apparently one of our friends who has been to Bonnaroo before told him that it's safe and no one steals...
edit:
One night a random guy slept in my friend's tent at another campsite. All the people camping with him thought it was him but he was definitely not there. I don't think anything was stolen...but weird.
Nothing too bad, but my toiletries bag (deodorant, shampoo, and toothbrush) was stolen Saturday night sometime. I had left it out on a table before we walked down to Centeroo, so it was partly my fault, but the fact that whoever stole that and not the propane grill or the cooler full of alcohol we had right by it was very confusing to me. Maybe someone wanted to smell a little better?
Sorry to all the people who had many valuables stolen. I don't get the thinking of people who can just go through people's things and take whatever they find. It's messed up.
My neighbors in Pod 1 got jacked and lost 1 purse, 3 wallets, and 3 cell phones. But they also left it all sitting on a table under their EZUPs while they were asleep. Idiots. Keep that Leno locked in your car or with you inside your tent.
Late Sunday night in Pod 1 as we were leaving we found a bag with an iPhone and a bunch of prescription meds just sitting under our neighbor's car. Not sure if it's related at all but it was turned into the lost and found. It was placed under the tire so it's almost like someone intentionally put it there to remember where it was later.
Did anyone have anything stolen from them that was either on them or locked away somewhere? All of these stories are shitty, but man, getting $500 stolen? iPods/iPads? I never had more than like $40 on me in Centeroo with the rest locked in the car.
I was camped right by the guys with the crazy Purple and green lights that made the road to BFE really freaking cool.. I believe it was Sat night when I saw two bigger black men just standing across the street, they looked real shady. I just sat in my chair and was watching them, some messed up kid came walking by and they pulled him in with a card trick game. the one where you find the marked card after switching the order around real fast.
they let him win a free one, then let him win the next one for $100 or so, some other black guy comes up and was like no way my man how did you get that right i thought it was another one.. so the kid is up $100 or so and then they start in on him. hes down about $200 in the next 30 seconds and they make him break out his wallet i couldnt see how they were switching cards on him but they took him for about $600 in less than 5 minutes. then as he walked away all mad they pulled in another guy.
people are dumb but shit like this is horrible.
we also had a few gangster hustlers try to sell us heroin coke and all this nasty crap. it was pretty easy to tell who wasnt legit and who was..
I was in tent only and returned friday night to our campsite that had been totally tossed by someone. One friend lost 60 cash. Another lost $30 and 2 packs of cigarettes. Another lost a large bag of corn. I took the hardest of it and lost my new droid, ipod, just over $100 cash, about $250 worth of corn, 1 pack of cigs and a couple of my freaking t-shirts (i assume to bundle up the rest of my stuff). All of my stuff was packed in a sort of false bottom in my bag but they dumped everything and rooted through untill they found the good stuff. After getting the envelope of cash they left a $5 bill in the middle of my tent in the open. Later on when my whole camp was full we were forced to watch them stand next to our site and call their ride while they talked about how the cops were on them and they needed to get out. I try hard not to profile but they seemed like the kind of folks that were pretty much guaranteed to have some kind of weapon on them. I could have approached them but there was not point in putting myself and 16 other people in danger for a pile of stuff. I understand that this is an action by a few bad people and i could've taken more steps to protect my belongings but i have to really think about returning next year if crime is going to be this bad or maybe worse.
