Or at least make the men's rooms they had more visible. I usually walked into them without waiting at the station near the Cinema Tent. When I told guys in line they were there, they'd act surprised then get out of line to go to them.

I always found a porto without a line. Was a case of lemmings that I saw. 4 entrances to the porto tent and one big ass line with lots of empty portos. Why wouldn't they just walk to the other side to find one? same with the right side of the What Stage. The left side stays pretty empty while the right side gets packed to the arch.
I, for one, thought that the porta potty situation was well done this year. I really think the tents were an excellent addition, not just to keep them from stewing in the heat, but also to provide light at night. I honestly had the absolute WORST poopy time experience of my life after Arcade Fire, and the porta potty i used had zero to do with it.
That said, anything involving fecal matter or urine can always be improved upon. I personally would like to see:
More tent setups in centeroo and What areas. Porta Tents in the Campgrounds too. More Porta Pottys in general. More cleaning crews, more frequent cleaning. The tent setup needs to be tweeked a little, only two entrances (instead of 4) Signs to tell people to notify volenteers of unacceptable conditions, the volenteers should then radio for a cleaning crew to come (once they have x number of nasty toliets) etc
I noticed that the portos were way cleaner this year than last year and I don't think there were less. Last year was terrible. I liked the shaded portos. There is nothing worse than a hot steamy porto in the middle of the afternoon, but I think the problem was crowd mentality, people were not paying attention and looking for open portos. The line cutters ticked me off too though, at one point the line cutters had a separate line of people with looser morals. They were probably going for the most efficient configuration to get under the tent and then crowd mentality made it not work. They did add portos though, I saw some appear where they hadn't before.

Maybe I was got lucky, but I never waited more than 15 minutes all weekend, regardless of where I was. I don't think that's too ridiculous with 80,000+ people.
The big crowds also understandably caused porto problems. I'll go ahead and let the Inforoo crowd in on a little secret. Some of the areas with porto-johns have a big 7-man porto-urinal for men called, appropriately enough, "The Men's Room". I've yet to see one completely full despite the massive lines. I've taken to just walking past the line, going to the urinal thing, doing what I need to do and leaving. I feel kind of like a smurf because everyone thinks I'm cutting in line, but if there's an empty urinal because people in line don't know about it or don't want to pee standing next to someone else, I'm going to use it. They can just wait in line until they figure it out or get over their stage fright.
Every single time I went in a biff (porto, whatever) the seat was full of pee. Glad I brought clorox wipes.
Hey men, if someone before you used the urinal as a trash can, PLEASE don't piss in it anyway. The pee soup that they fill up with was too much to handle.

There are 80,000 people in a farm field in Tennesee all using port o potties for 5 days and you were surprised to find a little pee on the seat? I can't use a bathroom in the mall without finding pee on the seat. Get real.

Thurs night in Centeroo was ridiculous... And the linecutters almost drove me to violence (good thing I'm an old!). After that, though, things seemed fine. Or as fine as portos get.
It must have been Friday night that the "Men's Room" portos near This Tent we're overflowing with a river of urine flooding much of the porto tent.
Completely unacceptable.
All of you guys sound like you have missed the most distressing moments. The "lake of blue" behind the portos in 06 was the worst thing I have ever seen. Once again people just do not realize time is subjective after Friday I do not think anyone ever waited more than 10 minutes to pee. How long does it take at an NFL Game, or indoor concert?
I think the Porto situation was the worst I have ever experienced - this was our 5th Roo and it was just gross - I found that there were fewer toilets in Centeroo with more people. I actually gave up waiting and walked back to our campsite to go because the line was so long
Another thing to consider... When the portos are lined up or just in a U configuration, the line doesn't seem that long because it's only 5-10 deep, having the portos the way they did left 2 long lines... in theory, the wait should be just as long, but this configuration did make for more line cutters.
It looked like they took out some portos between Which and What. I thought there was a big bank of them last year, but maybe they had to remove some so they would fit under the tent? I only went into one all weekend where the smell was nearly unbearable and I had to hold my nose the whole time. Never experienced any overflowing (though I saw several last year- yuck). The lines were pretty ridiculous. We pissed between our cars every morning (sorry neighbors!) because the lines were too big and our bladders couldn't make it.

ALWAYS.. ALWAYS tell line cutters what it is. if you don't keep quiet, peer pressure will push them to the back
def. told 3 groups of brahs/gurls to step it back - works everytime

I felt like a lot of people in lines were like sheep. There wasn't much thought going on a times. If I saw a big line from one entrance of those porta potty sections (don't understand why they changed it from how they used to be) I would just walk to one of the other sides and find a much shorter line. Also, there were times that a bunch of porta potty's weren't being used at all because people were waiting until they saw someone walk out of one before entering the area.
I never had a real problem. If there was a HUGE line I came to (and there were at some points) I just walked for like 2-3 minutes to another section and it was much better. Never really waited too long.

I thought the changes to the porto situation in Centeroo this year were AWFUL. Now, to be fair, I didn't actually use a porto in Centeroo all weekend, so maybe the line moved quicker than it looked like it was moving or something. But just the fact that I refrained from even trying all weekend pretty much says it all.
On the plus side, I thought the portos in the campgrounds seemed pretty decent! I never had much of a wait in line, and every one I went in was decently clean.
Fecal matter piled so high. Tampon cherry on top. Grossest thing I had ever seen.
.
this year they were dirty, but not muddy and the lights helped. The 'Men Room' is a great addition, but should be placed somewhere else, somewhere people can see it and know it is there. Every line of PJ should have a 'Men's room'.
