Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Topic says it all. The porto situation is bad. I am sitting at camp inforoo right now, just came out of the venue. The lines are LONG...and there simply.aren't enough. There are a lot of peeps here, centeroo is swote!
You think they really cut back on the number of stations? That just doesn't make any sense why they'd do that, especially in a sell out year like this.
I've got 2 words for this: go VIP! Our bathrooms have toilets that flush, running water at the sinks, TP, A/C - and smell very clean & fresh. Srsly, if you start saving NOW for 'Roo 12, you will never have to see an overflowing pile of nastiness ever again!

This is my first roo so I don't have a comparison but when compared to other festivals this is pathetic. At Lollapalooza I have never waited more than 5 people, and Glastonbury was even better. The lines in Centeroo a really unacceptable.
Yeah, I think they didn't plan out the early entry thing. It got people in quicker (I arrived at 2pm yesterday and literally had no line, I just drove up to the place where they checked my vehicle), but I don't think they anticipated that this would mean a Friday-sized crowd in a much smaller area. I think they should have at least had a couple of people play on Which to help spread the crowd more. There were way too many people there for just the three tents.
The big crowds also understandably caused porto problems. I'll go ahead and let the Inforoo crowd in on a little secret. Some of the areas with porto-johns have a big 7-man porto-urinal for men called, appropriately enough, "The Men's Room". I've yet to see one completely full despite the massive lines. I've taken to just walking past the line, going to the urinal thing, doing what I need to do and leaving. I feel kind of like a dick because everyone thinks I'm cutting in line, but if there's an empty urinal because people in line don't know about it or don't want to pee standing next to someone else, I'm going to use it. They can just wait in line until they figure it out or get over their stage fright.
Some might be thinking "How does this help women?" I think it does, because if more guys were using the urinals, it would cut down on the lines and leave the stand-alone portos for the women mostly. I think the lines should be better the rest of the weekend anyway, with the opening of the What stage area and people more spread to the Which stage side of the west area of Centeroo as well.

Also of note, at the portos next to THAT, a bunch of people were standing in line b/c they weren't aware that the back half of it was also accessible. There was a volunteer just standing there doing nothing, and some other Roo official came up to me and was like "why the fuck is everyone standing here? There's like 12 bathrooms open over there."

I don't understand why the potties are under shade tents in Centeroo. Im all for shade but it is not providing shade for the people in line where it is really needed. There are indeed much less potties this year and are still a biohazard as I expected. I got a UTI last year from the back splash so this year I brought a portable urinal and pee in a bottle under a blanket.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

I better start saving! This was my first Roo, and though it's been awesome some things like the disgusting portos, and huge ass lines to EVERYTHING make me wish I had saved more and splurged on VIP. *sigh* maybe next year
I never once waited in line. I would always either pee back behind the food trucks (at night) or just walk right by the line, enter the porta tent from the side and walk straight into the Men's Port-O that would always be half empty.

I noticed the porta difficulties too. I liked that they covered them and grouped them, but it seemed like the lines were crazy compared to the last two years. Also, the sheds they were in had several entrances and it was so easy for someone to skip the line.
Bonnaroo was aiming for improvement - they brought back the previous porto cleaning company (Rather than what they had last year... who did not clean nearly enough. Not only were the portos dirty but overflow was seeping everywhere and the whole ground was wet, squishy and the smell carried all over the place) From my experience, this year was no where near as bad with regards to that.
I really like the urinal addition as well as keeping the portos under lit tents so you could at least see what you were getting into at night time. I also noticed a lot of people just stood in line without even checking to see if any portos were open. They would just wait until they saw someone walk out.
Of course it would never hurt to add few more tents of portos and create some single areas of just the urinals so if you're a dude and all you have to do is piss, you can avoid the porto lines.
I think they could have made a serious impact on the lines if they had big trough type urinals the guys could use. I have seen them used in Germany during beer festivals and they are easy to build and takedown and are quick.
