Looking for some advice. Heading to Roo in one day, eight-ish hours. I don't know a lot of the smaller bands on the lineup, so I'm hoping someone can tell me what shows are promising to be a good time. I like the high-energy shows of Matt & Kim, or Micheal Franti's in '10. Any show where people will be jumping, drinking, and being merry!
Hope to hear from you all, and see you tomorrow!!!
Sleigh Bells should be pretty good i would think, i saw them put on an awesome dancy show in NYC recently, very high energy, so much so the floor was shaking from the crowd getting down.
This was basically the person in front of me filming so, i mean, a good spot always helps, it was epic as hell tho.

This is who I'm going to see that I think fit that description:
Thursday: Futurebirds, The Knux, Band of Skulls
Friday: kind of a relaxed day for me. Atmosphere may be energetic. My Morning Jacket and Arcade Fire will def be.
Saturday: Deer Tick and Portugal. The Man - cannot reccommend these enouch. Up and coming bands who are amazing live. do not miss them. Mumford and sons should be a great show too.
Sunday: Cold War Kids should be good. Superjam will be fun.
If you get there and get set up before 7 pm on Thursday, check out The Knux. I have listened to their album Remind me in Three Days so many times and it is so full of energy!
I also recommend Chiddy Bang as well and the one I think everyone is gonna overlook is Kopecky Family Band at 2:00 pm on the solar stage. Check these guys out, looks like tons of fun!

This! I saw them this weekend at the roots picnic. I was front row, and it was incredible. The guys were chatting with the crowd all through setup and just bullshitting and having a good time. They love to goof around with the crowd.
These guys went from unknown to me, to gonna check em out, to top 5 must see act. All within a month
Other "high energy" shows: Grace Potter, Gary Clarke Jr., Portugal the Man, Galactic, and everything Saturday Late Night (really can't go wrong with any of them)

Gogol Bordello is one of the most high energy shows I've ever been to. And him being late night... I just can't wait!
J. Roddy Walston was pretty high energy when I saw him open for the Hold Steady (he's playing during Buffalo Springfield too)
Sleigh Bells is pretty high energy as well. Try to get near the front... it kind of tapers off further back (like moreso than most bands)
Florence and the Machine can really get the crowd going as well (I'm sure there's better vids but I was at this show so it's easy to find).
Girl Talk is a lot of fun but having seen Gogol and GT multiple times I'd go with Gogol
I haven't seen the following but I'd expect lively shows from the following: River City Extension, Black Joe Lewis, NOFX (any of the metal/hardcore punk shows will probably be pretty fun), Neon Trees (I know how this forum feels about them but they'll be a packed party on Sunday), Band of Skulls, Atmosphere, Wiz, J. Cole
