Just three more days for all of you that are lucky enough to get to go this year. Anybody got their top three favorite shows that they want to share?
Mine are as follows: 1. Widespread Panic 2002, Final Night: The last time I would ever see Mikey Houser play on this earth. Dottie Peoples showed up, Dirty Dozen Brass Band showed up, Steve Winwood showed up (Traffic Covers!), it was unbelievable. Talking Heads cover of City of Dreams near the end was excellent.
2. Drive By Truckers 2004: My first time seeing DBT and I was instantly a huge fan. "With Bon Scott singin', Let there be ROCK!"
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.
1. NIN 2009 2. Flaming Lips 2010 3. Third is hard... could be MGMT 2008, Decemberists 2009, Mumford & Sons 2010, or Iron & Wine 2008. Too hard to pick!
"Walk tall, kick ass, learn to speak Arabic, love music and never forget you come from a long line of truth seekers, lovers and warriors" - Hunter S. Thompson
1. David Byrne '09 <~ I can't believe only 1 other person mentioned this, it was easily the best live show I've ever seen 2. Jay-Z '10 3p. Mumford & Sons '10
