This is my first year using a Guest Wristband Credential (I have a friend in the music industry). I'm going with some friends who are going to have laminents. Anyone have an idea on how these two differ and/or what is included / excluded from the type of wristband that I have.

It will mostly be the same. Depends on what kind of laminate they have as they are not all created equal. They may have access to a press tent, photo pit, or green rooms when you do not. Or they may not either, all laminates are not created equal. They may also be able to use the vendor entrance to centeroo coming from general camping and you may need to use the normal entrance (although I don't know for sure). None of these are a big deal in my opinion.
Guest camping is a great place to be. Showers, more space, no riffraff. It's a great place to network as everyone seems to be in the loop somehow. A lot of the brooers set up their RVs there with kegs where they party and give it away all weekend.
Laminates generally give you access to areas that wristbands don't...like side stages, special entrances etc. Guest wristbands from what I have seen enable you to come into the guest section of the campground (where the press/media tent is) and to hang out but not necessarily get you ON STAGE or any special access beyond that. I think you have to have laminates or special stickers to get more than that...but I could be wrong. I have never done the guest thing but have seen a LOT of guest bands in the media tent over the years...
