We usually leave at 10am and would arrive in Manchester around 9-10pm. This year we are leaving at 7am to get there around 6-7am. Not too big of a change. Enough of one to make some people from our group grumble at having to get up so early but o well.
we left Atl Thurs am last year, sat in line for about 8 hours once we got there and consequently missed most of Thursday. It was insanely hot. This year we are leaving so as to wait in line in the dark, at worst through the dawn hours. At least that's our plan now. I want to be set up and rested and be in time to see Futurebirds, and meet the over 40 peeps.
are they gonna be letting people in all night.. searching and setting up in the dark seems like something they wouldnt want to do. I still dont know how this is all gonna work. I think it is gonna be like past years except they announced they will be letting people in early

I really won't change the plan much. The last couple of years (excluding last year because I didn't go) we have had great success with not waiting at all, coming in the back roads. Although in 2009 we ended up way in BFE.
Roo #6 and I'll be doing the same as always. Getting in line around 7-8am. I've always had a badass campsite except for 2008 when I forgot about the time zone change and got there too early and ended up in BFE.
Fourth Roo here...not sure if that makes us old-timers or not.
Be that as it may, we're leaving at maybe 8 AM central on Thursday morning from the Spencer, TN area...coming in on 55 and REALLY hoping to avoid 1) being diverted to the interstate, and/or 2) getting stuck in BFE.

same as always just a few hours earlier on thursday. usually get in line around 10 AM on Thursday, but going for 7/8 AM this year.
couldn't get wednesday off work and it's too crazy of a drive to get there at 3/4 AM if driving straight from chicago. taking a cat nap in murfreesburo and getting on the road as soon as we all get up.
i live about 20 min from the farm, and i'm leaving my house around 8 pm wed night. hopefully, that will give them a chance to fill BFE and then maybe we'll get a good spot. i wanted to wait til thurs, but i don't want to drive 20 min to go sit in line for hours. hopefully we won't have too much of a wait wed night. i will also be coming in on HWY 55 and hope to avoid the interstate as well. i don't have to get on INT 24 to get to the farm, so i hope i don't get directed to it.
5th roo - we usually get to tn from jersey around 5-6am and do some walmart shopping and head in on the back roads from there. We usually leave jersey around 3ish Wednesday, but we are going to bump up the time table and leave by noon.

1 question, for people going to Tent only. If they are too early on wednesday, will they be put in BFE too?
4th 'roo here. Coming in from upstate NY (15 hours or so)
We usually leave early Wednesday morning, stay at a hotel a couple hours out, and drivin in thursday morning and set up camp.
This year, we have an RV, and with the new times...we are leaving about midnight or 1 am Tuesday and driving straight through, picking up food drink supplies somewhere in southern ohio or so. Should get there later Wednesday evening to park and set up, and be all set for the Thursday morning!

Wondering about this too. I'm going in Weds (shooting to queue up around 8) because it'll save me a night in a hotel, and also it seems like a long wait in line and no sleep on Weds night is way worse (to me) than being in BFE. I'm a noob though, so we'll have to see how that works out.
I have always gotten in line around 8am on Thursday in the past, but after missing 90% of the acts on Thursday in 2010 because of the ridiculous line, we're getting in line around 6 or 7 pm Wednesday this year. Will be taking a pop up camper for the first time. Is there even a BFE spot for RV parking?

Whaaaaa???
What direction do you come from? Nashville?
I've always gotten in line at 8am and have always gotten in and set up camp well before centeroo opens.

Yep, I'm coming from Nashville. Previous years I spent about 3-4 hours in line. Last year was ridiculous and we spent about 9 hours before we got to the tollbooths.
