RHCP could play Friday or Saturday, it just depends who else is there.
On one hand, they are similar in size to Metallica, but probably a little bigger. They're a modern rock band who have lost some popularity lately, and a lot of possible bands Bonnaroo could book are bigger (most legendary classic acts, Radiohead, etc). So Friday is possible.
But on the other side, RHCP is a lot more radio-friendly than Metallica, and have a lot more crossover. If this was post-Stadium Arcadium I'd say Saturday for sure, but as it is I'd think they could go either way.
Yeah KM. I wasn't implying Which Stage, even though they are dumb enough to do it. I could see that show before someone like Phish or Prince on Saturday or as the Sunday closer but def. A main stage act in that form.

I think Paul Simon would probably play the What Stage, but I don't think there are many, if any, scenarios where he ends up as an unopposed headliner. Not at Bonnaroo, he just doesn't have the drawing power there. For the same reason I don't see acts like Steely Dan or S&G or a few other acts, they are certaintly big time, successful names, I just don't think the clientele would buy them as legitimate headliners.

I think if you asked the average person even who the RHCP guitarist was many wouldn't know, so while it is a huge deal musically it's probably not a huge deal to the average festival-goer
Can we settle on Sigur? They have a huge following, have sold out stadiums across the world, are known for having a killer set, have a new Live album and accompanying film.
At this point I think Radiohead is all but guaranteed. They have not committed to a big Euro fest at this point (that I have seen) and people have been screaming for them since forever. I could totally see

Radiohead - Prince - RHCP - Furthur or Phish
Feb can not get here fast enough. Im impatient.
I would dial your expectations back about 3 to 4 notches. We'll be lucky if Roo has two acts of that level this year.

Yeah those expectations are waaaay too big. I was questioning if it was even realistic to consider both Radiohead and RHCP being there at the same time.

I kind of disagree. For some reason I have a difficult time seeing RHCP getting top billing if they play. I know they're "big" enough, but it just doesn't seem like it would happen...

I'm still worried about Coachella getting Radiohead and us not getting them. The tour dates of Radiohead almost look like they will be at Coachella. There's a good chance that if Coachella does get them then we will too, especially since in recent years certain acts seem to hit a few of the major festivals, but it's possible that they'd get them and we wouldn't. But I want them!

RHCP could be number 1 depending on the rest of the lineup, but in any scenario, I don't see them being any lower than number 2 and unopposed on Friday.
^ok, then bring Hall and Oates to the farm, problem solved!
Would not be surprised whatsoever to see them there. Especially since Oates now lives in Nashville. Was at Loveless Cafe barn venue for an Everybodyfields show a little over a month ago and I turn to my left and see him sitting right next to me.

Where do you think they would play? I'd loveee a late night tent, or even which stage

Probably a Daytime stage or night time tent. They are playing the ryman in a couple of nights.

Does stalking in Nashville ever work? I've met Patrick Carney but that's about it. Jack White has been my ultimate target forever, and he lives so close! So frustrating
