the thing is i think a lot of people knew, or at least thought that AF and KOL was on the verge of blowing up by this time in the respective years. I really cant think of anybody off the top of my head that fits that. Wilco I guess could have an outside shot of it.
AF had also been headlining and playing high profile festival slots to huge crowds in Europe since 2005. It was about time North America caught up.
I wonder why anyone hasnt mentioned Pearl Jam beingback on the farm? 20th Anniversary???
Just sayin........
I also think a Tom Petty return would make for a really fun 2 hours of music!
It feels like there are too many touring acts that haven't played Roo before for them to have a repeat headliner..... that said I'd be all in favor of either of these. They just won't happen.

Also, I guess I'm in the minority but I'd be perfectly fine with the Chili Peppers any way I can get them....I've never seen them and Roo would be a kick ass place to do it. But I seriously hope they don't take the top spot.

I can belive it very possible for these three to be there. I would not mind Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, RHCPeppers, Furthur. There most always will be a classic rock act-TP, A big name act- PJ, Reunion act - RHCP, Jam band-Furthur, now who would be the pop or rap act?
I could see Incubus playing a tent possibly, but not HL. I saw them 9 or 10 years ago on the Make Yourself tour and their were great (this was also in their prime though). How was the set list from last week? Did they play a bunch of their older stuff? I found the latest album to be a total bust......?

They wouldn't headline, but no way they'd play a tent
the Rolling Stones - Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Trey Anastasio & friends - Outkast - the Raconteurs - Wilco - Death Cab for Cutie - the Roots - Ryan Adams - Adele - OFWGKTA
not headliners but bigger/up & coming bands on bill: Foster the People, Lotus, Glitch Mob, Cage the Elephant, Young the Giant, Cults, Antlers, Mac Miller...

Completely agree. I imagine they'd be mid-afternoon to pre-HL on the Which. I really enjoy their new album, but the two that were post Morning View are garbage to me. I'd love REM to be on the bill! Never been a huge fan, more a casual listener, but that's another reason I'd be interested in them headlinin'.
Surprised I haven't seen many people mention Incubus. Saw them last week and they were great live. Wouldn't mind seeing them at Roo
im a huge incubus fan and have been for a long time. i saw them last week and was a little concerned seeing their recent setlists. that being said, the show in detroit last week was incredible once again. they arent headline caliber, but they would def be top 10 on the bill. I could see them being a Which closer or pre-headliner, and would be all for it.
Just browsing through recent updates, thinking RHCP will be in Europe come June playing Sonisphere:
Radiohead - Dave Matthews & Friends - Coldplay
Furthur (LN)
RHCP start their world tour on 9/11 and play many dates in Europe running through the end of the year. What makes you think they would headline a traveling metal festival?

I won tickets online so I'll be seeing them in a few weeks. Good to hear they still have it. I would envision them in a similar spot if they were to play bonnaroo. Somehow I just don't feel it's not likely that they will though

And they come back to America (probably) and play their Winter/Spring tour across North America and again are Coachella's headliners. When summer rolls around, it's back to Europe.

The festival organisor told it in an interview that RHCP would be available to book.
Sonisphere Festival organiser Stuart Galbraith has said that he is hoping that both Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the event next year.
During the festival's official press conference this weekend, Galbraith revealed that they were already in talks with the bands about making an appearance.
'They're both two that we're talking to, amongst a whole list of others," he revealed. "I also think we could have Green Day and Blink-182 here, but none of those are confirmed."

AWESOME! Four bands I have no interest seeing at Bonnaroo.
Yeah call it blasphemy, but his Coachella set turned out to be an outright success. The sell out of this year really changed the crowd and brought a lot of new people. I didn't see a lot of "Fuck Kanye" this year, either. He'd sell a poop ton of tickets and I'd be there to cheer him on.
When i got to bonnaroo this year, at 8ish pm wednesday night there was already a huge fuck kanye graffiti on the porta potties.
