I wish I was there in 2008 to witness that PJ set. Maybe in 2013 as they are wrapping up their latest tour. I know they have new material coming out as well as the 20th anniversary tour so it should be a pretty long tour.

It's in the top 5 Bonnaroo sets I've seen since I started going in 08. That Saturday I saw MMJ play 4 hours and PJ play 3 hours. I'll never see anything like that again.
Every time I hear about that MMJ set I get so pissed off that I didn't start going till '09. I seriously would pay the price of a Bonnaroo ticket JUST to see MMJ play a 4 hour set.

It was fun, the superjam with Gogol Bordello, and Les Claypool doing nothing but Tom Waits tunes was better imo.

That's tough for me too because I was there, but I messed up my ankle really badly earlier in the day and couldn't stand in the crowd. So I was in back trying to get into it but couldn't.

I must respectively disagree, Dr. Teeth. Caught a few moments of the '08 Superjam, but it did not measure up to MMJ controllin' the rain.

I was at the superjam in '08 and wish that I went to MMJ.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
Am I wrong, or did the insider say that Bonnaroo will never book Kanye again? If that's true, then a Kanye/Jay Z headliner is out of the question. Just curious as to why it keeps coming up.

I don't remember her saying that. I think she just said that Kanye was not going to play this year. I could be wrong but I don't think she said he will never play Roo again.
The new RHCP album is streaming on Itunes for free. Four songs in and it is slowly growing on me. Based on their tour dates, looks like their American tour will be over the summer. They seem like a shoe in for Friday.
Yeah, I use to be a huge fan. Blood Sugar Sex Magik shattered my mind in high school and really expanded my musical horizons. That said, this album isn't awful, but it was really needed. I'd pass on them at Roo.
I think Blood Sugar Sex Magic and Stadium Arcadium are good albums and Flea is always a pleasure to hear. I wouldn't mind if they got a Friday Spot. I would give them a C+ headliner grade, considering they are not a great choice but better than Kings of Leon.
I would love to see RHCP, but I really wish they would go back a lot deeper in their catalog then they seem to these days. Every album up to and including BSSM was really good, it was after that the quality started to drop. Freaky Styley, Uplift Mofo Party Plan, and Mothers Milk were a big part of my jr high, and high school experience. They just do not really play that stuff as much anymore.
Maybe they could book Frusciante solo, and have him play the Which Stage at the same time?
Personally, I would like:
Choose one: Paul McCartney / Prince / David Bowie Choose one: Radiohead / Pearl Jam / REM Choose one: Tool / Nine Inch Nails / Rage Against the Machine Choose one: Over the Hill, Has-Been Jam Band / Overrated Jam Band / The Jam Band that Bros like Choose one: Rap Mega Star collaboration that will disappoint everybody / Rap Mega Star that will fill bonnaroo with Tweens who only care about dancing to "All The Single Ladies" / Outkast reunion

Prince*Radiohead*Over the Hill, Has Been Jam Band*NIN*Outkast plz
Edit. I realize just how outrageous this would be.
