WOW... I missed everything yesterday, but Tool was mind blowing!!! Haven't read thru everything. When Inside said "I use the term loosely" could that put RHCP in the NIN slot from 09????

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
I overheard a conversation on a train the other day.
Radiohead & Phish.
Reply #2 on this thread. Before last year's Roo.
Now, don't forget to reveal the headliners for 2012 the week before roo this year too. We are counting on you, GL
That's not a Garageland prediction. That was a rumor over a year ago that someone had posted (I believe on a phish board and brought it here). Someone said their mom was on a train and overhead a conversation about "Bonnaroo" and "Phish and Radiohead" as the headliners. There was also some weird fuzzy info but since it didn't happen in 2011 most of us just thought of it as made up.

I agree with Surf.... We can't overlook "Loosely" Clearly Radiohead is one of the ELITE headliners playing today. RHCP fits the loosely part the best. We've speculated that they won't play on Friday due to schedule leading up to Roo, so unless Radiohead is Friday.... RHCP Late Night Which.

I'm pretty confident RHCP will be considered a headliner. Probably looking at a Stevie/Jay situation, with Phish being the Jay.
yeah that makes a lot of sense too... so rhcp > phish whatever night... radiohead another night... does phish get two shows and close out sunday or is there someone else. I'm leaning towards phish doing two shows so that way if anything else gets added up high I'm surprised instead of getting my hopes up. doesn't matter, my roo dreams have come true, well for the most part (*cough* book at the drive in *cough*)
Keep in mind that I am only referring to 'headliners' here, which I'll define as the 2 'prime time' spots each on Fri, Sat and Sun (6 acts) - so, just because I may say no to someone who guesses a particular act doesn't mena they may not end up on a late-night or daytime stage.....
So let's do some eliminating - I will start by saying that Furthur was looking as almost definite to close Sunday, but due to a conflict that crept up, they are out.........
I think Insider said "relatively loosely" because her own personal definition of a "headliner" is different from most people who probably look at the lineup and only count the top three names as "headliners."

I also agree with this, Insider (who is so so bada**, thank you for sharing this info and keeping me warm during the winter months) chooses her words VERY carefully and time should be devoted to the entire message.
Part of me thinks that the beginning part of the statement . . . leads one to believe that it's Radiohead and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
One's mind speculates that this means, but I'm not so much because I am very happy with thinking that it's the aforementioned names. The only other names I could think of would be other music acts already mentioned. Rod Stewart and Redman. Both of those seems like a stretch to be headliners IMO. I love Rodrigo y Gabriela, but headlining the 'roo is . . . well . . . not going to happen. I hope they're on the farm though!
The other loose end on the post is what "'headlining' (I use that term relatively loosely)" means - I think it can be interpreted a couple of ways: a. that one of the bands is going to be the the so-called warm-up spot to the headliner (much like the Black Keys were last year), b. one of them is going to be officially listed in the 4th position when you look at the line-up, or C. one of them is going to be in a late night slot, so their still a headlining name just not taking the so-called "traditional" headlining spot.
Option A seems the least likely - I can't imagine either of these bands warming up the crowd for someone else - plus I feel like that slot is usually for a up and comer, rather than an established (or past their prime band). Option C seems the most likely to me - my money would be on Radiohead doing a late night show. Seems like there is precedence for this - The flaming lips were a late night one year, and though not as big as RH or RHCP, I could see this happening.
Option B is the one I am hoping for the most - if RH or RHCP are not top three bands that means ANOTHER headliner quality music act is coming to the farm (fingers crossed!).
I'll step out of the away for now, and patiently wait for Insider (which again, thank you for this!) or Bonnaroo to reveal more excitement.
The only problem I have with your signature is that it makes looking around on the inforoo forums difficult at work. Same goes for the guy with rainbows shooting from his crotch.
I just have to quickly skip your messages unfortunately...not that I mind them.

well shouldn't you be working... this is why our economy is failing, people spend too much time on inforoo at work

RHCP are on the main stage, I would think, regardless of time slot.
I'm perfectly happy with this years "headliners" .. honestly a very big improvement over last year.
All of my attention is now focused on trying to get Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Cage The Elephant, and Flying Lotus on the undercard... We should all start spamming Gary's twitter with comments like "CMMOOOON, PLEEEAAASEEE! ILL BE YOUR FRIEND!"
