I think they are as much of a possibility as Dr. Dre would be. I don't necessarily think there is another headliner coming, but if there is I think it could be Outkast (though a longshot, understandably)
Maybe Big Boi was just so much fun last year that its clouding my judgement

There's a huge difference between Outkast and Dr. Dre.
Dre is playing a show. He doesn't tour much but he's also not done with live shows.
As of now Outkast do not seem like they are going to get back together and especially not for just one headliner show at Bonnaroo.
If Outkast do get back together at some point....there will be a lot of buildup to it, probably a tour and a bunch of buzz. I don't think their first show in years would be a surprise from Bonnaroo.

That might be my issue too. And as far as RHCP>Radiohead, I think it would be more of a Radiohead LN thing...like 11-1 or something. That way both could still be considered headliners, and RHCP could be in bed by midnight like their doctors probably reccomend...

that big boy show was insane! i had to sprint from arcade fire to get up front for that. getting out of that pit and through the whole crowd was totally worth it

Is there a reason I missed as to why RHCP wouldn't be playing Sunday night? I know Phish/Trey has traditionally been put in that spot, but that's it?
All the jam headliners have taditionally played that spot outside of Jack Johnson being booked in that spot before he was bumped due to a cancellation.
i know they've said this every year after Since I Left You Came out roughly a decade ago, but the Avalanches should be releasing a new record this year, and they've been stirring recently. possible late night act? would be the stuff of legends.

I was just about to say, Yeah, what happened to Jess?? But there he is!
Also, I want to commend you, ITM, for being the constant voice of reason on these threads. It's a hard, thankless job, but you do it with the patience and vigor that most men can only dream of.
It's usually a jam band spot because not everyone can stay late on Sunday and Bonnaroo tends to put the more mainstream acts on Friday and Saturday.
People who buy a ticket for RHCP but have to leave early to get home would be disappointed.
People who bought a ticket to Phish and have to work on Monday would also be disappointed......
People who have to work on Monday are just sh!t out of luck, no matter who plays. Seriously, I feel for them. I can't imagine having to go back to work the next day.

gah I really hope Beach Boys are not on Which and not before Radiohead.. I would probably have to miss them to get into the pit for Radiohead and that would be a travesty =(
By the way the more I think about it, the more I do not want a second Phish set.. Is that a set in stone thing? Insider just said Phish is going to be there, did she really say two sets again and I just missed it?
She never said Phish is getting two sets (I don't think), but that's the widespread speculation. I think maybe the late, great Wolfman Jess said that two sets was being bandied about as "confirmed" over on PT, but I might be imagining that, to say nothing of the fact that PT is a cesspool.
For whatever it is actually worth however, the same person who told me about Phish back in November has also said two nights. It is the same place I heard it from in September 08, though then he said something about a 3d light show so certainly he is not 100% reliable. Also he is not on PT, at least not to my knowledge. That being said the dates over there being floated around certainly all have either two sets, or two shows on them, and breaks that kind of make sense.
I am starting to believe that they will play Bonnaroo Fri LN, Knoxville at Thompson Boling on Saturday, and Sunday at Bonnaroo again. AC would not really be hurting themselves with a setup like that, and it would give Phish a non Bonnaroo Southern date. I think they will play Weds - Thursday at Deer Creek, or Atlanta as well, so I may not be in to Bonnaroo until Friday.
