Honestly, would insider be afraid to show her face again based on the fact that everyone on this forum was/is expecting Radiohead based on her "R" hint but it ended up being the Chili Peppers? I want them there as much as the next Radiohead fan but them making an appearance seems less and less likely by the day (even though there's no evidence to support either way, it's me readying myself for the lineup drop).
I've been a lurker here since probably around 2008 and it's been nice actually posting and somewhat getting involved with the community, you guys seem pretty top notch as far as musical preferences. Do you guys plan a meet up at all when it's finally Roo weekend? It's always fun meeting strange people.
if she wasnt afraid to come and confirm KOL in 2010, i dont think this will scare her away.

Just realized it's been exactly a week since insidier's last post. If/when she reads this thread she will probably get quite a laugh out of how insane we've all become in just one week.

The Wire
Season 3 Season 4 Season 1 Season 5 Season 2
In that order. And I still like season 2, but the others are better. Season 2 was important though because it really opened things up, laid the ground for future seasons

Doesn't she usually disappear for a couple weeks between posts each year? At this point, I'm guessing she doesn't pop back up until February.

There's no real pattern. I assume that she comes here when she has info to share (when bookings are confirmed).

I agree. I think we'll see her within a week of the lineup drop. Nothing sooner.
for those of you tired of waiting for the bonnaroo lineup to drop, louisville's forecastle festival (waterfront park, july 13-15) is releasing their lineup tomorrow. ac entertainment is now involved with that festival. looking like mmj will be there, but that's not really a surprise because they're from louisville and it's the festival's 10th anniversary.
and on that very same weekend, there is a festival called bunbury making it's debut in cincinnati. only 90 minutes north. some rumors for that festival include jane's addiction, death cab and weezer.

she won't be back for a while... i mean if all you had to do was post once to have people talk for pages upon pages of forum posts, wouldn't you just sit back and laugh? i know i would
Neil Young himself is a draw for most people whether he's in Buffalo Springfield or playing with Crazy Horse. Just the drummer for The Police and Oysterhead is a draw to virtually no one, despite his respective bands being draws.
Yes. What's your point?
You're saying they'll bring someone back to headline a year later as a repeat for the band they're more known for. Your example and argument showing precedent of this is the drummer for The Police coming back one year later after playing with Oysterhead. Copeland coming back doesn't really affect or diminish whether most people want to see The Police the following year. He isn't the main draw of that band. Replace him with a fill in drummer for the night and the majority of people won't care enough for it to affect the show for them.
With Buffalo, Neil is the biggest name in it and people may feel they got their Neil fix through that. Not that I feel that way personally. Just saying that Neil two years in a row would be more noticeable as a "repeat" type of thing than The Police drummer showing up two years in a row playing a completely different type of music. Plus Buffalo did play Rocking in the Free World. I personally don't think Buffalo being there stops NY & CH from being booked this year, but your example didn't really work to show precedent being set.
I grew up in the 90s and I still have minimal excitement over RHCP. I've been listening to some stuff again though and there will be a few songs that'll be fun. Let's petition that drummer via Twitter to let fans choose their Roo setlist haha.

You're talking out of your ass, dude. That's a terrible example since no drummer in rock history controlled their band's sound more than Copeland. Replace Copeland with a fill-in drummer and I think the interest in seeing a show from The Police seriously declines for a whole lot of people.
So one song from Neil's entire personal catalogue means NY&CH fans got their fix? Different sets, music, styles, etc.
It's hard to find an example that fits this situation properly because it's Neil Effin Young. And Roo put him against one of the other top-6 acts, so a lot of people who stayed for all of MMJ didn't get a great Buffalo Springfield experience. D

Just saying that for the majority of people, the casual fan, they won't care enough for it to affect the show. Note: The "majority" and "care enough." Not "huge huge fans" and "not caring at all."
Apologies for the annoying quotation marks used as emphasis.
My mom listens to a lot of The Police. If she went and saw them in concert and they had a different drummer for that night would it diminish the show for her or most people there? I doubt it. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
Hopefully the AC tweet means they'll announce the lineup date. Any other thoughts on what it could be?

No, not at all. I was just saying that the example being used to show precedent didn't work. The rest of my argument is probably slightly bunk and doesn't really matter.
Then your mom just wants to have tantric sex with Sting and the music is just secondary.
I mean, isn't that the fantasy we all have while listening to The Police? My whole point about Copeland is that I've heard he's been impotent since the 90s, and thus not available to join my mom and I for one of our favorite mother-son bonding activities.

don't worry, i can be the fill-in drummer you speak of
