Hey - this is a shout out to Noobs and experienced Roo-ers alike. Be sure to check out wristbands. Artists have different ones than GA and VIP. A lot of artists - mostly those that are not A-list, like to hang around Centeroo. You can meet these guy all over the place. Sometimes, they have the ability to get you into places were the general population isn't allowed. Keep your eyes open and you may discover the next stars!
As a member of the media the past two years (who has even struggled to get access to where I'm allowed), I say good luck to general admission ticket holders getting artists to get you anywhere you're not supposed to be. Just keep an eye out around the grounds though, I've seen and heard everything from Ben Harper and the Umphrey's dudes walking around Centeroo to Page from Phish walking around by Shakedown in the campgrounds.
remember that artists are people too and like their chill time like anyone else. They are someone's girl/boyfriend, husband/wife, father/mother, son/daughter, or friend. Sometimes they just want to blend in and be a regular person. Can't speak for all, of course, but I've been friends with some well-known musicians over the years and they were just good, regular people when not performing.
Haha I love how the OP says check for their different wristbands. Not look out for artists you recognize, check for the wristbands to use them to go backstage LMFAO! Like Zenfnp, they are people, if I saw an artist I knew in centeroo I would probably say "hello" and "thank you for the music you make" maybe a picture with them at most, but come on, they are people!

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio." -Hunter S. Thompson
