Just wondering if anyone wrote letters to Superfly / AC Entertainment ? I know there were some problems in the VIP area compared to years past. So if you did write a letter, did you get a response from them?

I emailed them about the day parking problem (day parking is not allowed on Thursday) and they responded saying they understood it was a problem and were working on a solution for next year.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this

I bitched to them about a few things, but I wasn't in VIP.
I pretty much told them they continued to choose the right bands for their festival, but it seemed like the extra money they charged us went to nothing but their pockets. They responded to that issue and the many others I brought up.
It bitched about getting into centeroo and the parking staff and that they need to stop having so many pop bands like FOW FF and others and they may have a Woodstck 99 on their hands in a few years if they get any more corporate and that they have nothing to fear from the venders. This may seem a little trite but as a 6 year vet of the roo I don't want to see roo go up in flames.

I agree with you.
The e-mail I sent them was pretty harsh, but the only reason I was like that is because I don't want to see Bonnaroo six feet under. I have so much fun when I go and it means a lot to me. I would hate to think about knowing that there won't be a Bonnaroo to look forward to.
My letter was pretty long. I divided it up in three parts. The Good, The not so Good, And recommendations for next year.
Most of my not so good revolved around the Thursday traffic for VIP and the traffic leaving the festival.
I have had no problem with the music selection for the two years we have gone. I have never had a minute to say "I have nothing to do or someone to see".
I did receive a reply within hours, so hopefully the areas that need improvement will improve. Thats all you can hope for.
I wrote them and explained that I had been a part of traffic management for events before and what they did with the VIP check in was a total failure. It's location, parking volume, only one enter and exit? You have got to be kidding! Your VIP's should have the easiest time getting into an event, that's why they pay more. I know some people like staying at the check in hotel and just getting up, grabbing their stuff and off to the fun. That caters to a few and not the majority. What they need and what I've seen done before was to have a large area just outside of town where vehicles can drive straight in and drive straight out. No leaving your car and standing in the mid-day sun. If the check in is at the same location next year, I'm parking across the street walking over to get my stuff. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes. ???
They seem to be responding to each letter individually, with consideration for what you wrote..... so maybe they're actually paying attention to what the people want..... is that possible??
What happened with the traffic to VIP? We were at HIE at 10, had our stuff by 10:30, and were making camp by 11.
Did you go to the same Bonnaroo I went to? The one in 2007? I can believe 2006 was like that..
I guess we were lucky on when we arrived. Looking back through the haze, I guess we were one of the first 4 or 5 cars in, so apparently it backed way up after that.

They seemed suprised when traffic turned out as bad as it was. I told them they couldn't have thought it would be any different when you officially make the festival four days.
Yeah, i was actually surprised how fast I got in though.....Thursday around 1 and I waited in line on the hwy for like 45 minutes tops and I was in and set up by 2:30.....

If you do that will the "check in person" walk across the street to put the sticker on your window?
When we arrived at the Holiday Inn the police told us to continue on 41 west and NOT turn in on Campground Road into the Holiday Inn. I then proceeded to tell him that I needed to turn into the Holiday Inn to get my armband, sticker on the windshield, etc. Then he shrugs his shoulders and says that there is no parking behind the Holiday Inn. I asked what would happen if I were to turn in and he just said "Do what ever you need to do" Mind you I had a 28 foot trailer on the back of my truck while doing this.
Again I wrote a letter in great detail stating all the traffic problems to Super Fly and CC'd the Chief of police in Manchester.

Thanks again to all who wrote letters.
I didn't have anyone come out with me when we checked in. If they do, I will explain I could not get into the lot and they will have to walk. I'm guessing they will just hand over the sticker at that point. I received an email back that stated they are taking into consideration all the feedback they are getting on this issue and that my input was greatly appreciated. Bull poopy, they will just do the same thing again next year. Either way I don't care, Bonnaroo is such blast it's worth the trouble. I will have to remember I said that when I'm sitting in line next year wanting to kill someone. ;D

I usually write a letter of what I thought was great and what needs some lover to the roo folks every year. If they could kill the dust it would be great.
Then I write a letter to the Mayor of Manchester and the Police Chief thanking them for letting us invade the town and putting up with our crap for a bit more than a weekend. I never get responses but still I thank them every year I've gone.

karma, just cause they don't respond doesn't mean they don't see them...and thanks for making the effort, makes roo attendees look appreciative!!

That's a really down to Earth act. Karma on me. I know I can learn something from that friendly gesture.

Thats really cool of you Funktopus, definite karma for you.

Thanks for the Karma. I usually try to thank the officers on the way in and out. I've never had an issue with the po po at room. Even when I'm sitting in the back of the truck drinking and trying to get the folks in line to sing the hokey pokey with me.
I do like to send letters during the off season just to keep somethings in mind as well. Still no late night Weird Al set yet. Meh

Yeah, I think they are writing back to people piece by piece...so if you haven't heard back from them yet, maybe it's just takin' a while...and i bet if you write stuff that's more specific to your actual case rather than a vague complaint they're more likely to respond.
I think the support staff needs to be trained better to be friendly to people myself. That was my big aggravation through the whole ordeal.
I'm going to lose some karma for saying this, but we actually just drove up to the front and somebody in an RV just let us in.
We probably waited in line about 20 minutes before deciding to press our luck.
so you are one of those a-holes that did that! hehe, jk... i was thinking about going to Wal Mart next year and then hopping back on the exit and jumping in line, but i might just drive through the night next year...
Hi all, this is my first post to inforoo! (although I posted from time to time on inforoo's predecessor).
Funktopus, I like your idea about writing to the Mayor and Police Chief of Manchester, and now plan to do the same. I've traveled to Bonnaroo since 2005 and always enjoy it and think highly of the whole organization - from the producers to the police on horses. Sure, anything this size will have some glitches, but you have to give major karma to the people who make it happen. I'm 39 and in a past job used to organize events, so I know how difficult their task is.
But getting to my question... can anyone post the name / address of the Mayor and any other appropriate people? I think if more of us read how to contact them, more would be inclined to show appreciation. (And lest none of us forget, you need to do at least 10 good things to make up for one bad... so make some "deposits" to make up for the unfortunate few who give hurt Bonnaroo's rep
