luckily i have only once ever had to use an atm at bonnaroo.
Roo is my once a year vacation where I ensure that I don't have a worry in the world. I don't want to have to worry over money, or get pissed about spilling a beer, or buying anything. I am there to satiate my whims. so on top of all other expenses, i bring a grand with me. I have never used it all, and the most i ever spent was 800. i usually get by only spending 500. I don't bring NO NO's, cause there is no need to bring sand to the beach.
I know a lot will think that is exorbitant, but it is how I roll at roo.
For on-site spending: $300 For the drive: $200 And, always a debit card stowed away in my car in case of emergencies.
Last year I took a little less money... $400 in total. I ended up with $85 in my wallet when I walked back into my house on Monday.
In 09, I brought a good bit of money (for me)... around $800. It really made the trip more fun, buying beers as I pleased in Centeroo, going a little bit more in the direction of partying than I usually do, and more eating. My most frivolous Roo, even if I did come out slightly in the hole afterward, I loved having more money to spend.
I think the least I spent was... 08. All I bought was some corn, I think 2 beers in Centeroo, and one meal on the last day. It wasn't even a conscious effort, it just happened.
I usually spend a couple hundred bucks. I bring protein bars and granola, feast on that in the am and then don't really eat the rest of the day (because I'm rarely even hungry...), so I don't spend much on food. Most of my money is spent on beers since I bring all other supplies with me.
That being said, I'm going to bring $200 in singles to make it rain during Weezy.
I know I've talked about this on here years ago... but I remember some years where people would come and set up mini strip clubs in the sea of tents that is GA... I remember one in particular in 07 that was near our camp. It was going at all times, it seemed, and they were making bank.
In 08 I tried taking money out of the bank but I was a bit drunk so I kept typing in the wrong numbers. The machine deactivated my card. It was for the best. I really didn't need to buy another beer.
In 09 I was pregnant and I spent a lot of money on falafels.(sp)
But still, I've never spent more than 200 dollars on the farm.
Just what I want...sweaty strippers who have been camping for four days.
Um, I would bet that one dance would buy showers for the whole fest and keep them smelling pretty fresh. And they could even write it off as a business expense!

It was too hard to find corn last year. I was running low by Saturday and couldn't find anywhere to spend my money. I'm coming better prepared this year.
I usually spend $100 on food and alcohol to bring to 'Roo (always come back with some). The past two years especially I've had to have a budget of only $250 fer in festival expenses. My first year I had loads of money, but didn't spend too much of it really.

How do you spend $800 in 4 days at a festival where you sleep on the ground? Are you including your ticket and transportation in that price? You must be buying the best no no words or spending way too much on them! Either way...I WANT TO PARTY WITH YOU!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I'm usually 600-900. I'm with you, icantenough, Bonnaroo is the one weekend a year where I don't worry about how much money I'm spending or think about budgeting for the weekend. It is the only place I indulge my impulsive nature in terms of money, and so I save up for a decent chunk of the year in order do make that happen.
Last year I spent about $20 on a hat in shakedown. This year, since I have a hat, I'll probably spend nothing. I eat at my camp site and usually go to Centeroo stumbling and make repeated trips back to camp for snacks and drinks. I log more miles than most on the farm.

This being my first roo I will bring more but expecting to spend 200-300. I will have food and drink at my camp. I figure eat a good breakfast and lunch at camp, drink a few brews before heading in, carrying some snacks for later. Few brews in centeroo, I've got all the shirts and posters I could ever want but might buy one or two.
Thanks to a wonderful exchange rate I picked up $500 US for $485 CA. That should cover me for Pre-Roo Walmart, rental car, and everything I need onsite. It's the $1400 + I've already spent that's killing me. Bonnaroo is our one vacation this year so we're making the most out of it.
i hope to be taking about $500 in spending money and $200 for gas
i have a change jar that i put all my singles in at the end of the day and change. right now i think i have about $50 in it and will see how much i have by the time i leave june 7th

i spend a good bit on magic hat #9. I also buy a lot of No No's for bonnaroo use, but also enough to stockpile for certain rainy days the rest of the year. so, no, I dont spend all that money just ON bonnaroo, but since it is a great market for certain things that aren't so readily available at other times and locations, I buy in bulk.
How much money you will need totally depends on your lifestyle. I have been and spent 300$ on the farm and a couple of times 800+. I spend less when I go alone because I buy a lot less no nos due to not having a babysitter or navigator.

I usually bring around $250 but I only spend around $100 each year. And i buy water and food in Centeroo. I do not buy beer, I bring my own wine or liquor.
