Didn't I just say that most moderators are probably listening to me with a sympathetic ear? Did I not say those of you I've met are good people, and that I hate sins not sinners?
Again... I don't think anyone who did not present themselves as an agent of Inforoo should be punished under the grounds of trademark infringement. I bring up the "so sue me" argument to illustrate that most of the people currently being punished for this would also have suits against them thrown out of court. If you don't have a case to sue someone for trademark infringement in a court of law, you shouldn't punish someone for trademark infringement around here. Simple as that.
I'm not asking for a democracy... I'm simply asking that our dictator be a benevolent one. I don't think that's excessive.

You know as well as I do, that nobody's going to sic a lawyer on some college kid with our name on his chat. I'll let Adam clarify at his convenience, but the only folks who were temporarily suspended were the ones who continued to fight us on this. It happens. It's done. We'll hopefully sort out the situation of the other "political prisoners," or whatever exaggerated term you'd like to use for a couple of people suspended from a message board, soon enough. As far as I can tell, most folks don't expect, nor would they want us to hold this message board to some kind of litigious standard. Once again, it's a message board. A place for people to discuss things on the internet - not a public school, a corporate work place, or anything else of that nature. There's value to the name and since Bonnaroo tied us to their site, we try to save face where we can. Adam felt like the name was being abused - some folks cooperated and others didn't. If you haven't noticed, we don't have much in the way of options for trying to sort things out here. It's all a little heavy handed. We lock, we move, and we suspend. That's basically all we have! We do what we can and if that means suspending someone from here for a couple of days, so be it.
By the way nice Red Rocks avatar going to finally see my first show there this summer. Already got my MMJ tics and if i have the cash going to try to make it up for the Avetts and GPN too.

You'll fall in love. I'll be there for MMJ - the rest of my RR shows have yet to be set in stone. Yonder and RRE is likely for me. Hoping for a Furthur run. Not sure what else, though! Last summer, I think I made it out a grand total of one time - so, I need to rectify that this summer.
Ok - this is where I can air a "general grievance"?
I have really turned into more and more of a lurker lately because of all the crap like this - it's the freakin' internet - it's not real life - people take stuff way way too seriously on here - if you don't like something about Inforoo - walk away - if you don't like how it is being run - go away - no one forces you to stay - and no one really wants to hear everyone biznatch, moan and complain about the way Inforoo is run - there's the door - use it!
Seriously - Inforoo is a wonderful place full of great people - I have bunches of people on here that i consider real friends and have met dozens and dozens of these people IRL. These are people that I consider such good friends that when my daughter was driving to Nashville, I gave her a list of everyone's name and number along the way and told her to call one of them if she ran into trouble and could not get ahold of me because i knew they would take care of her.
This is a family here - the bans/suspensions are because people are not following the rules and Adam makes the rules - the mods just enforce them - if you don'e like it - see my first paragraph - no one is keeping you here by force. The mods do the best they can but they are human and have feelings and emotions also - they are not always going to be impartial - so get over it. I've gotten on their bad side also - don't think I haven't in the 5 years I've been on here. But they are human and do a really great job of keeping this place going.

This. Honestly the MODs need to stop explaining anything at all. Do what you need to do, everyone else take a deep breath, press the power button on your computer, and please go out and try to get laid, thanks.
