Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo in 2013!!
If you had been to Roo before you might have a clue what your in for. You havent, so it doesnt matter what else you have done. It makes it impossible for you grasp some legitimate concerns people have.
You are indeed correct that it probably wouldn't fall under the auspices of libel per se. But if I was a blood sucker it wouldn't stopmbe from subpeonaing inforoo, pro boards and your ISP and sending a complaint, and then filing for discovery. I've seen it happen time and time again. I'm not saying who would win or loose the case but it could be taken to court and cost people on the receiving side a pretty penny unless they don't have those pretty pennies to begin with. I highly doubt inforoo would object a subpeona for you ip address because it would cost them a bunch of cash to do so and nor would your ISP after they handed it over.

Exactly. Until you are there all of the e-mails and message boards in the world won't help you.
My kids have been attending music festivals since they were babies and have been to Bonnaroo, which makes them more qualified to put together this trip.
"... I started planning this about 24 days ago... Also am willing to bribe gatekeepers and staff to get as close as possible, ..."
and a few lines later,
" ....... here is why I think I'm qualified to organize this trip... Am able to put my ego behind and my ethical standard forward and tell the truth..."
This sounds like the biggest clusterquack in the history of transportation. Its pretty much common sense that noone should take a gamble on this however when left with zero options I suppose desperation sets in and you tend to throw common sense out the window. This person has never been to ROO. I know nothing about nuclear reactors, you dont see me offering solutions to Japan. These important details you are just now figuring out are things that shouldve been thought of way in advance.
And so you dont think Im just some random troll coming into your thread (and apparently credentials are supposed to override common sense in this case) I went to school for logistics, graduated with a concentration in logistics, and now work in one of the largest logistics/supply chain/transportation companies in the world. This is kinda my thing, what I do everyday; my "professional" opinion if you will. As said before...good idea, poor execution. You need to spend this year experiencing the festival yourself. And start planning for next year. I think you will find its not as easy as just pulling a bus up and dropping people off. Also anyone handing this guy money ask for a contract that will fully refund your money in the event that one of the numerous things that are going to go wrong, go wrong.
There are no refunds on tickets unless the trip is cancelled for any reason. If someone doesn't want to come because they dont trust me to get them there they can talk to me about it and I will refund the money. So far so good not one person has asked for their money back and am only getting emails not to sweat this cluster of trolls...
How is it poor execution, just because of the possible walking? I haven't heard of any other reasons thus far.....
Is there a contract at all? and why would anyone ask for their money back now? I dont book a plane ticket then ask for my money back. But I also have a contract that protects me as the consumer in case something happens with the airline.
As far as poor execution...
This is the first year I'm doing this. There maybe some bumps in the road so please be aware.
I think you answered this yourself. Just seems to me you're rushing to get this done (which Im not saying you cantpull it off) but when I have 50+ people's Bonnaroo in my hands I would absolutely make sure I had all my ducks in a row. And the fact you havent even ATTENDED this festival before let alone done a bus trip of this magnitude screams to me that maybe you should experience it first and plan for a really awesome smooth trip next year. This isnt taking a busload of seniors to the casino.
And clearly you aren't a rapist (I hope) but the way you pop into any thread where a woman happens to be lamenting her lack of ride to Bonnaroo and tell them to come hop on your bus sounds extremely rapey.
"... I started planning this about 24 days ago... Also am willing to bribe gatekeepers and staff to get as close as possible, ..."

" ....... here is why I think I'm qualified to organize this trip... Am able to put my ego behind and my ethical standard forward and tell the truth..."
Enough said.
Yet you forget to mention that my commitment is to my customers (the bus guests) and the word bribing is used dramatically... you have never had to give a doorman or hostess a 20$-100$ bill for prompt service?
I look forward to the trip and to proving it a success with the help of the folks over at superfly
If you have help from them it will go a long way for your credibility. I think without it you are going to have a lot of trouble.
Am working on it I know that it would help with the credibility. My argument which tends to go unchecked here is that even without we will get to the roo festival grounds undoubtedly its just that people may have to walk, and if they are willing to do so they may buy a ticket.
I have been pretty clear about this since day one and people who go to the eventbrite page then to the FAQ/Idea page will see the same answers: nycbonnaroobus.idea.informer.com/

Bonnaroo does not have a doorman or hostess. It has alot of volunteers that barely know what they are doing when they follow the procedure at hand. They may take your money, but you'd be wasting it. It also has 80,000 people all trying to park in a field on the same day.
Your going to be sitting in traffic for hours, I sat one year for 12 hours. If your plan is to bribe the people at the gate, I think you need a new plan. Experience tells me that is a fail. Seriously, I'm not saying you cant succeed, but you need to take some advice about some things. If i sat on your bus for 16 hrs to get there, then 4-6 more hours in line. And got turned around at the toll booths i'd be pissed off at you. Do you think they are gonna let you unload 50 people and their gear right there?
Some things you just have to see with your own eyes to understand.
Agreed. I think the shuttle access will make this part a lot easier. That's why I'm trying to proactively work with superfly rather than not....
Also what was meant to be inferred is that I am willing to do whatever it takes not literally relying on bribes lol. You are taking a quarter of the statement and superimposing it as my definitive response but if you go back and look at the rest of the statement you will understand what I truly said and meant.
They dont deal to well with people "doing whatever it takes" they want people to follow the rules that they have established after 10 years of hosting this awesome fest.
The guy will get experience doing it this year so he can do it for the years after. There's always bumps in the road, and let the 50 people who take a chance with this guy overcome them.
You all sound like a bunch of arrogant summers breeze in a sacs (not all of you, but you know who you are), let the kid learn from his mistakes. If you think it's too risky, then don't take his offer. It's that simple.
He's learning things here, we should be helping this guy have a successful trip, not bash him for his inexperience.
You are all just cluttering his thread for people that ACTUALLY want answers and that would like to ask about this. It's called spam, and that's against the rules for any social networking site, including forums. Go play on your high horse somewhere else.
EDIT: We don't take bribes, especially at the tollbooths. If someone does, they probably can't help you and are just taking your money because they think you are an idiot. Your best bet is to keep trying to contact Bonnaroo, like every day.

Wrong, partner. Part of people's problem with what's going on is that it's not just this one guy who would have to learn from his mistakes, but the 50+ people he entices into the trip. Not only that, but he's posted about his bus in plenty of threads where people say something like "hey, I'm a 19 year old and I'm going to my first Bonnaroo, I need a ride, any ideas?" It seems like a large majority of people who are interested in/being targeted for this trip are first timers, who don't have the experience necessary to know what they're getting in to. I'm all for letting people learn from their mistakes, but I'm not cool with that when their mistakes could negatively impact others who have zero clue about what they should be watching out for.

Wrong. He's NOT learning things here - any time a suggestion is made that doesn't seem to vibe with what he's looking to do, he gets defensive and suggests that he'll figure it all out, that he's talking to Bonnaroo, etc. When people suggest that maybe he try the fest out for a year, see how it goes, get a feel for how it's run, and then maybe try and talk to Bonnaroo next year BEFORE booking a bus and selling seats, he starts posting his resume. Some have been quite nice about it (I am not one of them), but his response doesn't really change.
EDIT: We don't take bribes, especially at the tollbooths. If someone does, they probably can't help you and are just taking your money because they think you are an idiot. Your best bet is to keep trying to contact Bonnaroo, like every day.
This is false. The crew I go to Bonnaroo with is ~70+ people large. We're usually in a caravan of anywhere from 15-30 vehicles. As you might imagine, it's tough to keep that many vehicles together going through the gates, as they split traffic up in multiple directions. Every year, we take up a collection, and give it to one of the traffic supervisors, who lets us pull all our vehicles to the side once we're through the gates, and then wait for our whole crew to get in before directing us all to the same parking area. So bribes are taken, and they work. Also, the first year they really enforced the "no glass" policy, I was unaware of this before heading in, and had a couple cases of beer that they wanted me to dump. I dropped a couple bucks on the guy doing my search, and he let me through. So it might not be widespread (and I doubt there's any amount of bribes that would let a bus in, drop people off, then turn around), but it happens.
The problem is that most of the posts that were trying to guide him in the right direction were met with arrogance and rude comments.
The point is the only reason this whole thing might only be mildly successful because of the information he's received on here. But he's either not taking the advice or he is and is being a weenie about it.
I don't think it's the actual idea he's attempting, but the attitude with which he's doing it.
As far as meh, let him do his thing and if we don't like it don't go. Well I for one am not using his service, but I don't think the comments are cluttering the thread. If anything it's giving anyone coming here looking for answers more information to think about before making their decision.
When I look into booking a hotel I like to read positive and negative reviews. It's easy to talk about the positive. But that won't help someone, especially someone that's never been there before, make a more informed decision on whether or not to put money and trust with this person.

jniamehr - I know you haven't been to Bonnaroo before but have you attended other multi-day music festivals in the past? Specifically camping ones? Sorry if you answered this question already.
The problem is that most of the posts that were trying to guide him in the right direction were met with arrogance and rude comments.
Karen, I dont think I was rude to anyone (except juggs, who was clearly and obviously rude first and then someone said "thats just juggs" as if its okay for him to be rude) and I clearly said not to sound arrogant etc. when I thought I may sound arrogant because its the last thing I want. To date you have called me MANY names and I dont think I have ever responded to any of your posts except the one about raising your kids, rudely.
The point is the only reason this whole thing might only be mildly successful because of the information he's received on here. But he's either not taking the advice or he is and is being a shlong about it.
Karen I have said to you and other THANK YOU many times, Ill buy you a beer too if we ever meet in Centeroo... Im the last person that would want to be called ungrateful... again thank you everyone including juggs, who has chimed in on this post and wants us to succeed. But I knew days before anyone commented here that shuttle designation and bonnaroo's involvement would be necessary...
I don't think it's the actual idea he's attempting, but the attitude with which he's doing it.
Karen, again I think the internet conveys a totally different aura or attitude that I truly emit. I am always opulent and proactive and if thats not what you are getting than its just being misunderstood when passed with all the 0101010110010101 that make this the internet.

--Yes, exactly I agree.... I just wish you all would be a little more polite and a little less cynical.

Yep, Ive been to Coachella, the vibes and burning man!

The only thing I can agree with is that you have not been nice. I am learning and do appreciate everyones feedback. I am marketing to anyone who needs a ride. Im actively courting a group of people (9+) who have been to roo the last 7 years to join us. Your blanket statements are full of Leno. You're a weenie and I see no need to be polite with you anymore or attempt to. When Im wrong I say Im wrong, when I believe in something I defend it. When youre a weenie you stay a weenie and you come a weenie and you go as a weenie.
Also what kind of response are you looking for exactly? You have pointed out one thing and one thing only thus far and no one seems to care when I say this time and time again... The distance and the logistics of getting into the festival is the only concern that has been brought up here. Am I missing anything else?

A pedophile and a little kid are walking into the woods, at night. It's really dark and the little kid says "Mister, I'm scared!" The pedophile says "you're scared? I have to walk home alone!"

Dude your freakish obsession with rape, pedophile's and porn are really starting to creep me the f out. Is there something you want to tell the world about yourself? An attorney by day and a creep mcgreep by night? Its just a tad bit weird dont you think?

Obviously you aren't a fan of the comedy of Sarah Silverman.

I actually am a fan dont remember that specifically though... but you always seem to allude to the same thing so I just thought you might have something you want to let off your chest and then have us call 911 for... BTK was a Church president, club scout leader etc... wouldnt put it passed a rude attorney to be a little boy/girl toucher....

Well, not really. I've never alluded to porn (hint: that tagline under my username wasn't put there by me), this is my first joke about pedophilia, probably ever, and I only mentioned rape because your arrogance and the way you keep asking young girls to get on the bus with you struck me as being rapey. But you're doing a swell job, keep it up. I know that after reading through this thread I really get the impression that you'd be an awesome person to spend 18 hours on a poorly-planned bus trip with.

Ya I thought so too! You really bring out the best in me now dont you... We should totally be best friends, like omg totally!... Again how many dudes have I said the same thing to? What the quack does being struck as rapey mean? You strike me as a total D0UCHE but I mean I didnt start saying it till you started with me.... Like your mother should have told you... if you have nothing nice to say... dont say anything at all... and to be clear Im not saying not be be a critic, blunt, honest, or provide feedback just dont be a D-I-C-K about it. Which you have most definitely been and continue to be.
