Wish there was a video for Smith Hill and City of Sin. Those were the best performances of those songs i've seen. Smith Hill was emotional and Sin was heeeavy
If anyone happened to catch it, I was the girl that passed out in the crowd and was carried out in front of the stage (hope nobody saw my boobs, my bathing suit top was coming loose while I was being carried). I only caught the first 2 or 3 songs of their set before passing out, so if anyone has video of the whole set, I would love to see it. Maybe I'll even see myself in the footage too.
I do believe I saw that, but rest assured, the twins stayed in their cage. At least from what I could tell.
Hope you're feeling better.
Okay, well that's good
I wish I could remember which song it was I passed out during. It wasn't too far into their set. Maybe 3rd or 4th song.

Heat and dehydration. Didn't drink a single drop of water all day. Oops.
All I remember is watching the first couple of songs, then waking up by a ton of water being poured all over me outside the tent in the VIP area. I have no recollection of being carried through the crowd or over the railing up front. I woke up outside.
Pretty upset I missed their set, Deer Tick was actually one of the bands I was most looking forward to seeing at roo.
I was awake when they did Ashamed though, I could hear it from outside while I was being attended to.

I was really excited when I saw that Deer Tick and Portugal. The Man were in the line up. I was even more stoked when I found out that Deer Tick was going on right before Portugal, which is my all time favorite band.
I got to watch Portugal's entire set from the VIP area because I passed out, so it wasn;t all bad
Good set but too many covers IMO. It was my 1st time seeing them. Do they usually play covers? I just didn't see them being a band that played covers. I enjoyed their set a lot though

They only played two real covers. The "Coconut" song was like a little interlude to the next song so I don't really view that as a cover....was only a few lines from the actual song.
They do play covers at most of their shows. I've seen them do a kickass "Cheap Sunglasses" cover and they've also done an amazing "Down South in New Orleans" at some shows.
I just saw Deer Tick last night in a little place called Cafe Eleven. Place fits about 120 people. It was quite literally one of the best concerts I have EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. They were SO ON last night it was sick. They really never stopped playing, tying Miss K into Lets all go to the bar with the mario brothers song and all kinds of random shtuff. They played some Nirvana, Some Journey, some Brian Setzer, chunks and bits of all kinds of random songs - but the best part was it somehow flowed. It all worked SO WELL. The concert ended with the band smashing the hell out of the drumset (destroying it) and then John pulled out his pecker and played the guitar with it before blowing a few snot rockets on stage and jumping down and basically being carried out by a flock of hot beeches.
It was...Im still on a music high from it. It was oh, so amazing. Seriously.
They played a lot of stuff from their new album at the show. They also had the LP and the CD available for sale there. Im kind of kicking myself for not getting the Retickulous package...would love to see whats on one of those cameras!
