Ah, last year was my first year so I had just assumed it was like that with the head comedian. I'd really like to see David Cross, Patton Oswalt, or Jim Gaffigan in the tent.
It's possible it could happen this year.....I just wouldn't bank on it. Last year was kind of a last minute thing.
David Cross would be good. He was supposed to be there in 2008 but had to cancel. Would love to see him back.
I'm in class from 8am-6pm (MST) tomorrow except for lunch. I'mm going to be clawing my eyes out waiting for the day to end so I can join in the additions chat with you fine folk.
And I've got a damn exam on the billary system. Arg...Bonnaroo sure is taking over my life and making functioning in school difficult.
For comedy, I'm really hoping for Zach Galifianakis, Stephen Colbert, Flight of the Conchords, Jim Gaffigan, Nick Swardson, Mike Birbiglia, or Kyle Cease. Any of these people would be awesome.

^you're a dreamer, any one of those would be a comedy headliner, perhaps one of them but not more then 2. Would be a siiick lineup, you gotta look for people who don't allready have multiple cd's out tho. I don't think jim gaffigan would be down with the whole 100 degree heat fest thing either, judging by his comedy and general paleness, lol
im wondering if tracy morgan would be a possibility. he was on conan last night and conan mentioned he was dong a show in memphis june 2nd. if thats a start of a tour, puts him in the area.

Out of his list the only two guys I'd consider big enough for "Comedy headliner" type of status would be Stephen Colbert (big name, weekly show.....similar to Conan) or Zach Galifianakis (Roo veteran who's fame has rocketed since being at the festival last).
The others are all smaller names. Flight of the Conchords played a regular comedy show last time they were there and they haven't done anything substantial since then so I don't think they'd be a huge name. The others are mostly just good stand up comedians.
Still holding out hope that one of the following are there this year: Louis CK, Zach Galifianakis, Reggie Watts
Definitely agree with that wish-list.
I'll add Daniel Tosh to mine, but that's because I have a friend who is on the fence about going, and she lovvves Tosh, so that would get her to the Farm.

You do understand that the last time they played was BEFORE they had a hit television show for two seasons, right?

I agree for the most part with you. Colbert and Galifianakis would definitely be headliners, but I think Flight of the Conchords would be considered headliners too. Jemaine is becoming a star in his own right with Gentleman Broncos, Dinner for Schmucks, and MIB: III, and they've had two highly successful seasons of their TV show. Additionally, they had two sold-out Radio City Music Hall nights, and regularly play huge venues. If they are not headliners, they're pretty dang close to it.
Either way, I'd love to see any of these comedians on the farm. They are all immensely talented. I don't think it's a stretch at all to ask for people like Mike Birbiglia, Nick Swardson and Kyle Cease together. I definitely plan to check the comedy out at Bonnaroo, I'm really just hoping for any of these people. FOTC and Galifianakis would be my tops.

No way would they be considered comedy headliners.
Their television show and Radio City shows? That was 2 years ago.
Their last tour was about a year ago as well.
Jemaine may be getting some decently funny parts in comedies but he is not blowing up and getting a ton of recognition. Gentleman Broncos (while very funny IMO) was barely seen by anyone and didn't really make any impact on the comedy world. Dinner for Schmucks was another good role for him but again...not a breakout role like Steve Carell had in 40 year old virgin or Will Ferrell in Old School. MIB III isn't even out yet so that doesn't have much of an effect.
I just don't think they are that big.....you know along the lines of Conan O'Brien and Chris Rock. Those are names almost everyone will hear and at least vaguely know who that is. If Flight of the Conchords were the biggest comedy name you'd get a lot of people who don't even know them.
But what do I know? I've been wrong in the past about things.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
