arent there comedians normally on the initial lineup?? I think there was in the past
As far as I remember they've been on the initial lineup. Maybe they are trying to lock a good comedian? I would rather this long wait be for a musical act though.

Flaming lips have a gap 6/4 to 6/11 to 6/30 (although the 1st date is across the pond and the second in Santa Rosa CA) Neon Indian have openings on the 11th and 12th
In response to a "when are the additions coming?" on their fb page: Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival: Your patience will be rewarded, grasshopper.
Not much but could mean some huge adds.
Huge adds are relative to each person. To some people "Huge adds" are Radiohead and David Bowie. To others it's OFWGKTA and Umphrey's.
They've been saying things like that on other posts. Someone speculated that Radiohead's big news on Monday could have something to do with it but I'm still in the camp of "Radiohead will not be at Roo 2011". We'll see.
exactly. Black Star would be earth moving for me but I'm sure many others don't feel that way.

Probably not going to happen, but I'm just bored.
I spoke with Wayne Coyne last night at Tim Delaughter's record store in Dallas. He actually hand packaged the vinyl versions of he and Neon Indian's collaboration and personally drove them down from Oklahoma lol
Any who they aren't doing sh!t this year, only said to be working on reissues of a few of their albums on vinyl.

Has anyone heard anything about Damien Rice? He's been to Roo several times and I've always enjoyed his set. I don't see any tour dates for him.
I would LOVE this. Damien Rice is one of my favorite artists. He's been playing a few one off festivals recently in places like Iceland, Norway, etc., and he was just added as a late addition to Honeyfest in the UK. He keeps popping up at random shows as well and doing really short sets. I would really like for him to be added, and it would probably set me into a giddy fit of excitement which wouldn't be pretty.
Anyone else get the slight impression that AC/Superfly don't really have their act together as much as they have in years past?
They had difficulty securing the big name artists they were going after, the lineup shares a lot big name artists with other fests like hangout and coachela, they released the lineup a lot later then anticipated, the lineup is weak on reggae acts, and electronic acts too (all the electronic acts so far are at every other fesitival and aren't new or cutting edge), and the lineup additions are taking a while to come out...
Not aiming to complain or bash on AC/superfly, god knows its gotta be difficult as hell to put on a festival like Bonnaroo. It just seems like business has been especially difficult for them this year
"BANDS: Reminder to submit your band by March 31 to play Bonnaroo. Selected bands will receive $1000 (from us and Sonicbids) and land a slot at the Festival on one of our cafe stages. All application fee funds will be donated directly to the Bonnaroo Works Fund which helps various nonprofit organizations. Not a Sonicbids member? No worries, they'll give your band two weeks free so you can find gigs throughout their network.
FANS: Feel free to spread the word to bands you think should apply. We'll book eight bands directly and we're letting fans help select the final two bands who will take the stage! Keep your eyes peeled for fan voting on our Facebook page in April.
That being said....Maybe they are waiting for these bands??? I hope not....voting doesn't even start till sometime in April on facebook.

Wold love to get Ed Vedder on the farm, he is starting his U.S solo tour on June 15th, he is really tight with Neil Young as well as with MMJ, would be a nice tune up for his tour

Nope.

They had difficulty securing the big names they wanted because most of the big names weren't touring or had other plans.
Sharing bands with other festivals is common. Especially when you consider that the bands are currently touring which makes it easier to big. And if they are big names then that's the reason multiple festivals will want them.
The lineup was released later then anticipated? Anticipated by who? It came out roughly around the same time as most years.
The lineup is lacking in reggae and electronic acts but we still have additions to come out. And even so, if the additions have NO reggae acts then it isn't a sign that Roo doesn't have their stuff together - it could just be they decided to take a break one year.....either way....wait til the lineup is complete.
Additions taking a while to come out? It happens. Oh well.

I think it's just been difficult all around. Most festivals have headliners that are making people say the top of the lineup is weak. I think Roo has their stuff together and we'll have additions soon.

Eddie Vedder in any form would be a must see for me. I really enjoyed the stuff he did for the into the wild sound track...here's to hoping he's an add
I don't think it will be tomorrow, but I'm really think we get additions on a Saturday this year. I personally think it will be mid/early April. I'm thinking the 9th.

Is there anyone else who'd like to see Glen Hansard on the farm? He puts on one hell of a show. Marketa Irglova said on Twitter that she'd be there with Iron & Wine, and I'd love to see Glen there solo. I've seen him perform solo a number of times and it's fantastic. Also, he's opening for Eddie Veder on his solo tour, so maybe we can get the both of them then.

Man, I can't stop posting.... Beck just finished producing Thurston Moore's (sonic youth) new album that comes out in May. I would love to see both on the farm!
