Ugh. I thought for sure that today was going to be the day. Especially because last week two different Bonnaroo sources claimed that they would be coming "soon."
I'm also surprised that we haven't had many self-confirmations from Lounge acts as they start posting their tour schedules. They can't wait forever to announce their tours.

Ugh. I thought for sure that today was going to be the day. Especially because last week two different Bonnaroo sources claimed that they would be coming "soon."
I'm also surprised that we haven't had many self-confirmations from Lounge acts as they start posting their tour schedules. They can't wait forever to announce their tours.
They really love to throw around the word "soon" like it means absolutely nothing.

I'm just not really counting on adds at all. I'm set with the lineup the way it is really. I'm also expecting them to release crap jam/crap edm anyway.

I'm just trying to be optimistic, DJ/Electronic wise. I'm just really dissatisfied with the electronic presence this year, and I'm looking for some fun stuff into the wee hours. Even though most of the Lunar Stage DJs were meh last year, they were a fun backdrop to wander and meet new people at 4 AM. I'm not expecting anything woah, except for Black Star.

I agree wandering to the lunar stage late night in between shows or just for a change was really fun. It was something I hadn't really ever experienced before and it was an absurd amount of fun.

Yeah,but what do you expect them to do? Give actual times to the hoards of people who continue to e-mail them? Soon is basically there way of saying leave us alone and just wait..lol

hey there are quite a few bands from 08 who are back this year. i still think levon is a very likely addition. what do yall think about buckethead? i think hes gonna be there with bootsy. ya thats right, BUCKETHEAD. Hes been seen with bootsy this year. the funk university is a big mystery. my prediction is BUCKETHEAD will play with bootsy, and les claypool will come out and jam with them. possibly even flea from rhcp. rhcp is active this year and flea is a part of bootsys online funk university

lol, I have like 4 e-mails from before the lineup dropped with that word in it, lineup will be out soon, schedule will be out soon, adds will be out soon. I guess if you say "soon" you really can't hold them to a set date, "soon" could mean tomorrow, next week,2 weeks, who knows

This was posted in the comment section of the Justin Townes Earle post on Bonnaroo's Facebook page from March 16:
"Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival: We'll be letting you know about lineup additions soon! Stay tuned..."
Once again, I would expect that if it was not coming "soon," they wouldn't have gone out of their way to say anything. But the real question is, what is soon.

the additions were released on march 6 last year. by soon i think they mean next month. if the additions arent released this month i think before april is over we should be getting them. it cant be that much longer. after all, bonnaroo is soon, its less than 3 months away. i give it another month for additions, no longer
"Soon" could be defined as a late-night release, like 2 a.m. tonight. It's possible — or not.
Bonnaroo doesn't really ever release news late at night, especially not important things like artist additions. If it doesn't happen by around noon or 1 p.m., or if they release some other insignificant crap, then it typically is my cue to give up for that day.

I guess my theory of last year being "ElectroniRoo" and this year being more "RapaRoo" is still holding true until the added artists show up. Hell, at this point that might be NEXT year.
I feel Bonnaroo has kinda been dragging their feet somewhat this year. Just an opinion, but it seems even the headliners weren't "officially" in place until last minute. I understand that it is a huge task putting this all together, but the word "soon" is really getting overused a lot by them. Oh well, guess we all keep waiting right?
