So Eminem, Widespread, and Arcade Fire are listed before Buffalo Springfield. Does this mean Eminem is in the Jay z spot? Because Bufallo springfield ahs to headline, it wouldn't make sense any other way.
Jess - do you know/like Deer Tick or Justin Townes Earle? Both are really good.
JTE is ok, but nothing I am going to run and try to see. I am not really familiar with Deer Tick other than the song they play on the radio, and I do not like that one much.
I agree. I'm waiting to see what the Electric Forest Festival brings before I make my decision on the festival I'm going to this year. Hopefully it doesn't sell out like Coachella.
What does everyone think about this selling out fast?
Bonnaroo is larger than Coachella in terms of capacity...but I think you'd buy your tickets ASAP, really. I don't picture them still being available by, say, April.
I had no idea how true this was until I went to Coachella last year. I always thought they were comparable in size... not so much. Roo is fucking HUGE.
Just to throw in my two cents, I'm pretty indifferent about this lineup. I cant make the trip to the farm this year, but I'm not too upset about it as there's not much here I havent seen before. The only thing that's really bothering me is seeing Mumford and Sons billed above The Strokes. That shit makes me want to cut my eyes out.
My list pre-research (which is by far my biggest ever pre-research list...not sure if that speaks to the awesomeness of the lineup or the fact that I spend so much time here with you suckas)
Arcade Fire Black Keys Buffalo Springfield MMJ Lil Wayne Robert Plant and BoJ The Strokes Primus Dr. John Florence + the Machine Superjam with Dr. John and Dan Auerbach Gogol Bordello Beirut Big Boi Scissor Sisters Gregg Allman Deerhunter Opeth OCMS Matt & Kim Grace Potter & the Nocturnals Mavis Staples (come on Jeff Tweedy) Loretta Lynn Cold War Kids The Walkmen Wanda Jackson Portugal. The Man Sleigh Bells Best Coast The Sword Wavves Justin Townes Earle Deer Tick Kylesa Man Man Low Anthem Alberta Cross
My point was more that, outside of the Somethin' Else tent, jazz was never a large part of the lineup. One or two artists doesn't make the point, you know?
I realized this after I posted. I need to just lurk for awhile.

I'll make you a Deer Tick mix of some of my favorite/best songs if you promise to listen to it.
They're pretty amazing. They do awesome covers of Chuck Berry and ZZ Top (cheap sunglasses) and also do La Bamba. They're awesome live and will be a great show at Roo. Hope they headline a tent on Thursday.

I'm oddly ... Not screaming. I was hoping there would be something to make me cry, but I'm chalking it up to a bad day in classes right now. All of me knows I should be crying cuz all I wanted was NEIL. And I got it. So no complaining here. Looks like there's something for everyone so I'm glad about that. Can't wait for other adds and ROOOO! Happy lineup day all.

I think the reason i really like this undercard is because it reminds me of the glory days of Roo for me. the percentages for me are perfect. 33% of bands i like and want to see 33% of bands i have heard good things about but never seen 33% of bands i have no clue who they are. 1% of bands i will think are there, but arent.
I really doubt Arcade Fire would be back at Lolla so soon after headlining last year and with their two headlining shows at UIC pavilion. Lolla front of stage is a clusterquack compared to Bonnaroo. Double-Gate system for life!
That's true, I really didn't think about that. So your saying you can get pretty close to the stages at roo? Last year midday at Lolla I walked right up to Mavis Staples and was able to say hello. Also, what is the Double-Gate system?
Yeah, that's midday. I tried to get down front for the Strokes. Just to get to the soundboard was horrible. The double-gate system is where they section off the pit and clear it out after each act. So you usually only have to wait one act prior to get down front for an act. It's how I got really close for Springsteen in 09.

so.............................no U2 huh?
i'm digging all the acts at the top of the card. my least liked is Widespread but that's just cuz I don't know their deep catalog of songs. i'll enjoy their show relaxing.

i dont see the problem with the electronica. did bassnectar not melt faces last year? is girl talk not a crazy party? bonnaroo has seen MMJ 3 times now, WSP 4 (5?), Neil once.... and no one is complaining about that. different year, different show (except WSP).
