I don't understand the rabid demand for Buffalo Springfield. They have some great music, but when you boil it down they're simply a one-hit-wonder that no one would care about today had they not started the much more successful solo careers of Neil Young and Stephen Stills.
By that logic Robert Plant & the BOJ should headline, because that's the band that started the careers of Robert Plant and John Bonham before Zeppelin.
Fuck "For What It's Worth."
Seriously, just forget about them as a ticket seller, forget about image, forget about hits, forget about that song, and do me a favor.
Download Buffalo Springfield Again, their second album. Give it a listen, a fair listen, not one of those "I want to be right so I'm going to come in to this hating it," listens. It is a fucking amazing album.
Check it out and you will understand why some of us are so pumped for the prospect of Buffalo Springfield.
I feel like most of the Buffalo Springfield doubters just haven't listened to Buffalo Springfield. (For What It's Worth doesn't count. Would you base all of your opinion of Radiohead on Creep?) They're the Folk Rock Beatles.

my only question about Buffalo Springfield is the last few times, I've seen Stills with CSN & CSNY; his voice is becoming worse each time, I'm pretty sure it's because of his impending deafness, maybe it wont make as much of a difference without the harmonizing/leads in CSN.

That examiner article uses the livemusicblog lineup as their source and that LiveMusicBlog lineup was supposedly made up of mostly rumors. I hope that article is right but I'm not looking at it as confirmed yet.
Buffalo Springfield and Buffalo Springfield Again. Then if you have time give a listen to Last Time Around. It's mainly just solo stuff from Stills, Young and Furay.
Here's the setlist from Bridge School:
On the Way Home Rock & Roll Woman Child's Claim Do I Have to Come Right Out and Say It Go and Say Goodbye I Am a Child Kind Woman Burned For What It's Worth Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing Bluebird Mr. Soul

I'm thinking Jay-Z's spot. Late night on the What.
I think this might be it. Unless they put Em at LN... but I think Buffalo Springfield is more likely. They'd be an interesting late-night choice... I kind of hope they don't do it so I don't have to choose between them and all the late-night tent stuff.
I don't know about BS being a late-night set. Seems more like a sundown kinda show to me.
I am so motherfucking pumped for this. I hope they bring back out the electric guitars -- their reunion at the Bridge School was all acoustic only because all the acts must play acoustic.
Time to bust out the box set -- which I highly recommend to anyone looking to dig deeper into the Springfield catalog.

No way they're a late night. More likely, they'll play the Sat headlining spot (with another band playing Which, The Strokes? ) and Eminem would take the LN What Stage spot.

This makes sense I guess.
Buffalo Springfield won't be latenight but i'm so damn happy we have them.
"I mean, Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees." "this whole situation has just turned his whole life upside down face."
2012: RHCP, Phish, Beach Boys, Aziz, The Roots, Alice Cooper, Superjam, Blackstar, The Word, Luda, Flogging Molly, Spectrum Road, Umphrey's, Black Lips, Gary Clark Jr., Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Trampled By Turtles
Are they gonna sound good? When they sing For what its worth, is it gonna sound good or like some old farts singing karaoke?
Music sounds good to me...but, the singing is just so-so. I'll definitely check them out regardless. I hope it's better than the CSN show I caught last summer.

As long as they don't play after Lil watyne or eminem on the same stage i'll be good, as I will be waiting all day to see them and I will tear my ears off if I have to sit through lil wayne or eminem.
I think the most logical spot for them is pre-headling for Arcade Fire. AF will probably only play for 2 hours so it could go 7:30-9:00 Buffalo Springfeild 10:00-12:00 Arcade Fire. I think that makes alot of sense.
Not the same thing, obviously, but I saw Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young back in either '01 or '02, and they played quite a few Neil Young songs. I would expect the same here.

screw that BS should get a full two hours. They are legends. My decision to go to roo is based on this act (though i'm very pleased with the undercard) but they better be a headliner. Because if AF, Em, and WSP are really the 3 headliners that would suck.
