I don't know if this already has a thread, but I just wanted to see if other people felt similar to me. This was my first Bonnaroo. I had an absolute blast...but. As with everything, the good comes with the bad. First off, on Saturday morning I had a major (turned out very minor) disaster. I woke up, had my usual breakfast for a non working day...herbal tea;) and then some pop tarts and off to get ice and water. Was feeling really tired, as I was every day at 'roo. Then we "relaxed" some more and I decided I needed something out of the car. Couldn't find the keys. Panic. For nearly four hours, myself, my girlfriend and my best friend searched our campsite and the pods and centeroo info booths. Finally, after giving up and deciding to deal with it later, I gave it one last shot. I lifted up my suitcase that had been searched at least three times prior, and wouldn't you know what was smashed into the ground....Ok, so I know that was our own burnt faults. Just thought you would enjoy our ridiculousness. My other bummer was the inability to find biscuits that tasted as good as they were supposed to. I thought that bonnaroo was more of a family and people weren't out to make money by scamming. But I was wrong. All i wanted out of my entire trip was to have delicious biscuits before Sasha and Digweed...I had some on Friday for DJ Shadow and Saturday night...and they were both equally as disgusting. The other thing that bothered me happened just before we left on Sunday night. We were just leaving to go to the Wolfmother show when a guy a couple of rows away from us ran up behind us yelling. He wanted us to go back to camp and move our tents so he could "leave in a couple of hours". It was fifteen minutes till showtime, and we had been chilling for hours at our campsite. We did it, because we felt it was the right thing to do. Hours later we came back and found our canopy run over by a car. No note, no nothing. Just a neighbor saying, that guy did it. Also, centeroo security??? Come on. I had glowsticks taken away going in to Sasha and Digweed. I don't know if I'll be back to 'roo or not, not because of these things, don't get me wrong. I went more for the collection of bands this year than any other reason, and the shows I saw were mostly amazing. But if I had been there four days and had nothing but peace and love from my surroundings, I would be a lot more likely to want to return no matter who plays. Anyway, sorry for the novella, I'm interested in what replies if any I'll get.

The title of this thread tells you everything you need to know. Those little thorns don't mean a thing if the rose is pretty enough and for me that rose is god damn fucking GORGEOUS!!!
I mean, last year I had a crappy campsite, my friends were bitchy, I was broke, but ya know what? The music was worth it. If I weigh the scales the good outweighs the bad by a ton. Sure my feet hurt and I missed some stuff and it was hot and let's face it the MAN sucks. But dude.... the music, the awesome 99.99% of the people, the sights, the smells...
You put it all together and it's an experience. It makes you a better person for taking the ride.
Some rides are a little more intense than others. It wasn't your turn. Next time... patience young padawan, your time will come. but yeah man, chasin' a buzz sucks.

Thanks for the words aly, makes me feel better that someone has felt my pain. And just for those who aren't sure...It was worth it...thirteenth Tool show and three rows from the stage. Probably won't ever see them from that close...at least not being that comfortable...again.

I suffered a little last year but I was close as hell for a bunch of stuff this year. I've mentioned it on other threads but I was like 15 yards from sting when he took off his shirt, and for an 80's girl like myself it was awesome. I felt like I was 13 again. I could see detail of Sting's nipple!!!
are you kidding me! That's insane!!!
I'm giddy. (I know it's sort of people magazine of me but I can't help it!) ;D ;D

Bonnaroo is one of very few places I could have been when the Cavaliers got swept from the NBA Finals, and still had a blast...Maybe next year I take my own stuff in...didn't seem like a problem at the gate. Although I did see DTF tearing someone's shit apart just inside the exit off 24. Wonder how they choose those people?

John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

that's just part of the whole story
Yeah, I had some bitchy friends, and it definetly put a damper on the whole trip. However, i didn't let it get to me, and I made the trip the best it could of been, even if I would be by myself.
well i went with an old friend i hadn't hung out with in years. it was like going to roo with my mom. after thursday night, i didn't see more than one show with them per day...

I came across a pretty significant amount of bunk goodies but it kind of comes with the territory unfortunately.....we pressed on and got what we needed for the party anyway, so it all worked out....nothing can ruin a good weekend at the 'Roo.

Were they camp site sitters? I told my girl before we left that if she was gonna babysit the campsite she was gonna have to deal with me being gone for hours at a time... she held her own though.

Who said going to Roo with your mom is a bad thing?
This is my Mom and little sis (Sam) at Ziggy Marley. Had a ball with my folks(their first Roo, my sixth).
