Remember when Kanye and Pusha weren't embarrassments?
That would imply that I think they're embarassments now. Which I don't. Kanye consistently puts out great stuff (with the occasional misstep, usually because he gets too pop/electro) and IMO Pusha's last tape, Fear of God II, was terrific. Still gets a lot of play from me.
Kanye makes good music point blank...I think his "doucheness" out shines that sometimes IMO
I still hear Kanye verses that make me stop and realize how gifted he is as a pure emcee. I still think Kanye is very good, with his bad moments, but I wish he wasn't all about trying to blow people away with his production (both musically and with his performances) and just concentrated on what made him famous in the first place: his emcee skills and songs that told a story.
People only want to hear about how awesome and rich you are so many times.

Totally agree with this. The early stuff where he's talking about working hard at his craft and being overlooked and having the passion for so many things tops the "look at how baller I am now" stuff.

I went a little over the top with the embarrassment thing. But these last few songs and WTT are p embarrassing. I'm sure when he gets serious again, he will be fine.
I didn't really love either of the Fear of God's that much, so maybe I'm just not as much of a Pusha fan as you are.
Anyone wanna try something out? I'm trying to come up with a personal top hip-hop producers list and was wondering what y'all's thoughts were. Let's do top...20.
