I gave em a listen and I like their sound. I especially like the track titled Minnesota Nice. I've heard all about the minnesota nice up there. I see nothing saying that theyre booked the weekend of roo, just some february dates.
expect a killer show with lots of the old stuff with a few new songs off the new album. They tend to stick with the shit people know and mix in a few new ones.
Really enjoying this band, haven't snagged their music yet, but trying to check them out on youtube, and with the exception of the vids posted above, it seems like a lot of their music sounds like it is recorded in a tin can Aside from that enjoying what I've heard.
Lucy Ford is a great starting point. Also, When Life Gives You Lemons is another good starting album. If you decide you really dig them, go with Seven's Travels or God Loves Ugly.
There's so much out there that's not recorded in a tin can, you just have to look for it!
I disagree with starting with life gives you lemons.
If you want the entire Atmosphere experience you have to follow the progression of Slug, as he grows so does his music. You seriously watch Slug grow up from his first to most recent tracks. Its odd how his music follows along the lines of the shit ive gone through as well.
here are the musts in my book. sorry im too lazy to give you all youtube videos like others..
The Woman with the Tattooed Hands Scapegoat F**k You Lucy God Loves Ugly Love Life Modern Mans Hustle Always Coming Back Home to You Smart Went Crazy Yesterday Guarantees In Her Music Box
I got lucky and lived in the twin cities during the atmosphere boom.. such a great city to live in when he was up and coming. i miss the days seeing them at record stores and at first ave playing to a few hundred people..
Some will say God Loves Ugly, I would say Seven's Travels because that is when I started listening to them. Saw them at Warped Tour in '03 and loved em, can't wait to see them again 8 years later!
