NO, dude. We have a list of possible bands. Hold on I'll update it.
I wish the OP would update
Should we go ahead and list all the bands from after page 53 on, so everyone can see them and start working down it again? We've got all the tour info, etc.
Edit: Sorry for all the editing. My computer keeps freezing up while I type.

Gary Chardonnay hinted that SUPERFURRYANIMAL's list on page 59 had the right answer on it... and also when i think watershed otherwise, I think it refers to bloodshed...unless im thinking into that too hard.
That list doesn't include all the bands from the list Gary was referring to. I thought he gave us that FULL LIST for a reason.
Agreed. Note that superfurryanimal's most recent list was posted roughly 25 minutes before Gary's tweet. I think it's likely he had read that post and intentionally referenced the earlier list. Here are the bands listed in on page 59 that are not listed above: Killswitch Engage The Sword Empire of the Sun Opeth Deftones Rodrigo y Gabriela RATM Sufjan Stevens 50 cent Silversun Pickups
Opeth and Empire of the Sun make the most sense to me. It's got to be able to strongly relate to the first clue and have a relation to metal, and a lot of those are one or the other. Pretty sure Gary ruled out The Sword...

the only correlation i can see with the deftones is that blood is in their video for "you've seen the butcher" i cant really find anything about space or speckled lads. speckled = freckles maybe??
FWIW, Opeth has an album called "Watershed" and their band name comes from a novel in which Opet translates to "City of the Moon." However, there is a huge piece of the puzzle missing, so I don't think they're it.
Also, if we trust that Gary saw all the bands before 53, the Deftones can be ruled out too.

I still think it's a "metal" band, not actually metal genre. And I still think it's Empire of the Sun. Just realized he could probably easily use the search feature to see if anyone had mentioned the band already.
"However, gigs in Spain and Portugal were cancelled due to the Burning Live Festival being cancelled, and four concerts from June 26 to June 29 had to be cancelled due to Mikael Åkerfeldt having chicken pox."
Speckled lad? We just need to find out where these dates (in 2008) were scheduled.
As awful as it may sound, perhaps "Burning Live" (in this sense) could refer to the Challenger disaster... which would then tie into the clue? A stretch, I know. Just throwing it out there.

Silversun Pickups fit the clue and hints better. At least to me.

"Sorry, nothing for #1 just yet. Keep at it. RT agenthal: garychardonnay What about #1? 12:22 PM Jan 19th via TweetDeck" The last post before this was riburroo's at 11:14am jan 19th page 53.
"Delightful. By the by, I've seen the correct answer for #1. RT BelgianCumCrabs: garychardonnay Was it good? 6:02 AM Jan 20th via TweetDeck" The last post before this was agenthal's at 3:49am jan 20th page 57.
Sounds like we should search those pages using superfurryanimal's list as a guide.

Someone look up some tour dates. I gotta run.
Ya'll solve this crap!
Doesn't matter to me, that was one of my guesses too. Though, I've seen them 7 times already... the one thing that makes me hesitant about that is when they played ACL they said it was their last show for awhile. Going on break to record the new album, etc. So it'd be a one-off date for them if it was them...
