I would love if it is true, I'll file it with the others. When Daft Punk, Radiohead, or Phish ends up playing, then we can either believe or chalk it up as a coincidence. I wrote off Daft Punk playing 'Roo a while ago with all the confusion over their upcoming tour.
I have a hard time believing the heads at AC just tell their kids the big names on the lineup. Seems like a great way to get your entire lineup leaked
true, but if they would tell anyone, why wouldn't it be family? lord knows if I had an exciting secret like that and was half-way drunk, I'd probably let it slip too.
Still, word of mouth is still all we have... which is unreliable in recent history.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I also would love to be able to see Big Boi or Devo in a tent after the Daft Punk set.
Also, it is fun to call random "I am calling it here first" posts. This has been the first time in over 2 years that I have posted on this board so it is my first time to call it here first.

If only Radiohead and Daft Punk had any plans to tour.
You don't need to tour in order to have a one-off show.
I sure hope it happens, but odds are it is not. Just hoping everyone doesn't bank on two artists which have no plans to tour as of now. When the line up drops there should not be disappointment over rumors that started from sources on message boards. Rumors claiming to over heard a cell phone from a passenger on a train and a conversation in a bar of an old friend who has friend, who is family with someone high up.
Literally hope I am wrong and we are all dancing the night away to daft punk, but until the line up drops, let's not go sucking each others' dicks quite yet.

Daft Punk definitely has plans to tour.

The article the blog quotes notes the story was pulled down from the original site. That could mean the source leaked something that was not suppose to be leaked or simply he had no idea what he was talking about.
They are finishing an album, and will plan the tour afterwards. Aka after the Bonnaroo Lineup comes out, so they don't ruin the surprise.
The article literally says they have no plans till the record is done. Not sure how you can infer that means the album will be done soon and they will be ready to tour in June. No plans seems to mean we are making no plans till it is done. Oh and there was this report last year saying the album was nearly done.
Seems the creative process of radiohead has no time table.
Bangalter and De Homem-Christo said they have no plans to record another soundtrack anytime soon and hinted at the release of new Daft Punk music: "Making music for a movie is very humbling," Bangalter said. "We've been working on some of our music concurrently." (They declined to specify touring or album release plans.) latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2010/12/daft-punks-path-to-tron-legacy-not-an-easy-one.html
The band as of 12-25 confirmed working on new music, but declined any comment on touring. That could mean they made 2 new songs or have an entire album ready to drop. Either way, banking on either artist seems premature.

Well i was just trying to give some kind of information to the question if the bands had any plans to tour. The statement does insist that they will be touring once the album is finished, and June is a looong way away. Also the articles was posted two months ago so who knows what has happened since. I am definitely not banking on Radiohead though, just offering information that could hint at them as a possibility
Daft Punk I feel is a whole other issue. I would doubt that one of the higher-ups in bthe company that represents Daft Punk, doesn;t know what he's talking about. So I wonder if the article was taken down because they do not want that information to get out. I don't know.
All shit aside, I really hope you are right. If Daft Punk is on the Coachella line up, they will probably be at Roo. If Roo some how steals both Radiohead and Daft Punk from Coachella, holy shit that would be amazing.
Either way, I am all for Daft Punk at Roo, just not sold yet. Cheers.

Great, so they have been planning this tour for the last two years.
EDIT: Oh and Cheers! Here's to also being hopeful.
