I know this will more than likely get moved . However this being the most traveled portion of inforoo I would like to bring up my concerns... This past Bonnaroo was my third and honesty I left disgusted....I would like to highlight what will make me not return to bonnaroo for the 10th anniversary if the lineup is not stellar....
1. How can you call yourselves hippie and throw out and or walk around that much trash laying on the ground...
2. While being searched coming in the gentlemen handing out bracelets had advised me his station was out of trash bags and recycle bags... Fortunately we brought a roll of trash bags for or neighbors cause they all didnt recieve one as well...
3.While entering centeroo I felt as though I was tormented by the security even being searched a second time after being nearly 100 yards away from the gate... Only to find nothing .... Either get smarter security guards or something stop harrassing us over your Fuck -ups
4. I love electronica in all forms but the solar tent last year sucked because its still ultimately is about music quality and well it was not up to par and ruined other music namely DEADMAU5....
5. Honestly Bonnaroo you lack in decoration yes the wall is great but look at Rothbury and sherwood forest you cant even compare in any way shape or form..
Feel free to add to my list Hopefully someone will see this and make some kind of a change at the top... I feel as a yearly goer this has become something of a home to me and it is being ruined by the drive to ever expand.... You sleep here for 3 to 4 days, right? does your bedroom look like that when your done....

You should volunteer for clean vibes and help[ people sort their trash all day.
Also if this is your third roo did you just get your eyesight back in an operation, that is the only reason I can figure out that you did not see the trash in 08 and 09. As to the searches I am not sure how you had any problems I waited less in line this year than I did in '09.

The biggest problem last year was the absurd wait to get in. Of the four years I've gone, this was the longest wait to get into Roo. We got in line at 5 AM and didn't make it in until 2 PM.

Now Line by Line: 1. How can you call yourselves hippie and throw out and or walk around that much trash laying on the ground...
3/4+ Bonnaroo goers do not call themselves hippies; even the ones you love and cherish. People can suck, yes they can. Be loud about how douchey they are being and do your part - biggest party in the East Coast what do you expect??
2. While being searched coming in the gentlemen handing out bracelets had advised me his station was out of trash bags and recycle bags... Fortunately we brought a roll of trash bags for or neighbors cause they all didnt recieve one as well...
Agreed. Biggest nightmare of this bonnaroo, they shouldn't have cut costs in that direction.

Come on, SF/AC like everyone else buys into a security company or two -- they certainly don't micro manage them and if you were polite. Everything was cool, have had worse years then last with centeroo security. Everyone has a job my friend.
4. I love electronica in all forms but the solar tent last year sucked because its still ultimately is about music quality and well it was not up to par and ruined other music namely DEADMAU5....
Did you notice that DeadMau5 and Kaskade played the same tunes at some point. oops, i said it. Solar Stage -> needs to be a Tent, needs more control of levels, blah blah blah. Experiments take time, no one's perfect.
5. Honestly Bonnaroo you lack in decoration yes the wall is great but look at Rothbury and sherwood forest you cant even compare in any way shape or form..
Arts & Such and carnival aspect seemed lacking and decreasing over the years. So... keep asking them and maybe they'll deliver damn it. All we talk about is headliners or whine about attempted improvements. like say getting people free water, trying to bring musical diversity and not stagnate as a festie and sometimes failing at it.

I am NOT a hippie. Though, I will make sure my campsite is spotless before I leave, and anything I discard as trash will be placed in the correct trash bin.
As far as security goes, the only problem I had was that they were making people empty out their camelbaks Thurs and Fri. This is senseless.
Ways to improve bonnaroo?
1. Several more mist tents with a slightly higher output of water 2. Atleast 5 more filtered water stations, with adequate water pressure 3. MORE SHADE!! 1 tent the size of "This Tent", without a stage, and without the sides. 40 cheap ceiling fans running at full blast would be a nice touch too. 4. More / Better art installations 5. More / Nicer / More frequently cleaned Portapotties

I agree. Waited in line for 8 hours last year. I had friends going in a separate vehicle. They arrived after we did, and got in hours before. So I don't know what I did wrong, but this year I'm gonna try a new strategy to getting in.
In reply to the post, the trash doesn't really bother me. It would be nice if more people threw their stuff away, but overall they do a good job of keeping the place clean, considering the amount of volume they have to deal with. It's kind of the same deal with the porta-potties. It would be great if they could figure out a better way, but there's not much you can do with 75,000 people constantly using them.
The biggest things that they need to fix, have already been mentioned, are shade and easily accessible water stations.
More art would be nice, but not at the expense of less music. I think they leave the art scene at Bonnaroo up to the vendors. Plus, the most artistic thing about Roo is the crowd. That's why it's so amazing.

You can blame the wait to get in, on large part, to the rain the days leading up to Roo. They started letting people in on Wednesday like they always do, but had to close the gates for a while because the mud was causing problems.

last year i only waited 1 hour in traffic before i made it to the tollbooth, and in 2009 i waited 3. and both times i didn't head for the grounds until about noon on thursday. there are other paths than getting stuck on the highway.

Aww! You broke the 1st commandment! Thou shalt not talk badly of Bonnaroo. Fact: Bonnaroo is perfect in every aspect. No use arguing. No matter what kind of experience you had. Everything went perfectly. If it didn't go perfectly see the 1st commandment. You were silly to offer your opinions.

Some people are just entitled, selfish d*cks who didn't take heed when their parents told them that they shouldn't expect someone else to have to clean up after them. Unfortunately, the whole country is full of them. Bonnaroo is no different. It doesn't make it right, and if I had a blow gun that I could use to shoot people in the azz with a substance that would make them less douchey in general, I'd be at it all day.
And you probably don't look like a wook. Most people at Bonnaroo don't. We were searched really hard too and I'm a perky, clean cut, blonde nurse who wouldn't be caught dead trying to sneak NO NO WORD!!! into anyplace. We just happened to get the security guy with a tiny d*ck who needed to flex his muscle elsewhere, or was just taking his job a bit too seriously. That seems to happen a lot in life too. Whatayado.
Your heart was in the right place sugar, and your intentions were good. Hugs and I'll share one of the breakfast burritos I make every morning at Bonnaroo with you this year.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

How do you challenge people calling themselves hippie and then expect them to think ahead, plan and of all things put forth the extra effort to clean up after themselves? That is not what lazy slacker hippies do. They're lazy and they're slackers. Not to mention communists! Your post reveals a complete and total lack of understanding of that which is inherent to being a hippie. I challenge the very nature of your implied hippieness sir. You may be a commie, but you are in no way lazy or a slacker. Two out of three ain't bad, but one out of three just don't cut it mah friend!
And fuck your opinion of electronic music. Where's my Tom Jones set dammit?!?!?

I had ZERO problems with security this year. Same goes for the other years that I have gone. I didn't have any problem with trash, because I brought my own bags. This year was pretty lack luster when it comes to art so I will agree with that.
It really sounds like the problems that you have with the festival regard your own personal music tastes, problems with litter bugs and your preparedness coming to the festival.
