Most likely January. It's not an official thing per se and you likely won't ever get any announcement on bonnaroo.com about it, just something that a dj started doing a few years back that exploded. Since then the festival organizers have gotten more involved and the clues have, in my opinion, gotten more convoluted. (One of them involved driving to a bar in Virginia to get part of a clue.)
It's just a bit of fun to get the buzz going. Check back here regularly or follow the inforoo twitter and you won't miss out.
87, dont worry people are very organized on here with how they present the clues. they will get them for us and post them on here if you cant get them yourself off of the radio or twitter. they then start a thread for each clue so its easy to keep up with. there is another thread for the solved clues and confirmations of bands.
the clues are hard...and we can all contribute. you may just know the one remote fact that links a clue to a band so please join in

This sounds like Little Feat. They had a live album "Waiting for Columbus." The connection being: Columbus is a space shuttle whose namesake comes from Christopher Columbus. The speckled lad was JFK, who was the pioneer in getting an American to the moon, but was assassinated before he could. Columbus finding the new world/ JFK wanting to go to space, both are considered a watershed moment in history.
