You are the first person I have read anything positive from regarding Waging Heavy Peace. I was a fan of Shakey but steered clear of the new due to the negative reviews I read
It depends on what you are looking for from it. If you want a history, Shakey would be better, but if you want to have a conversation with Neil about the people and things that he cares about Waging Heavy Peace is great. It is very stream of consciousness and there is little organization, but it is a fascinating incite to why he does the things he does.
Bummer. Neil and the Horse are officially not going to be at Roo 2013.
They'll be playing the following dates across the pond: June 10th - Newcastle Metro Radio Arena June 11th - Birmingham LG Arena June 13th - Glasgow SECC June 15th - Dublin RDS Arena June 17th - London O2 Arena

Cool I shall check it out
Waging Heavy Peace is the best memoir I've ever read, followed closely by Grace Slick's. I read it in less than a week and recommend it highly.

He is going to headline Glasto I can just feel it.
Ok now getting sold out of Glasto just hit me really hard
Does he really "headline" Glasto though? Would he be big enough this year? I wouldn't see him as top-3 on that lineup.
Ya you underestimate how big of a deal he is in Europe. He headlined in 2009 with the Chrome Dream band and he will undoubtedly headline with Crazy Horse.
Why would that matter? Glasto doesn't do theme headliners they just get the 3 best people available. When Neil headlined in 09 one of the other headliners was Bruce
